Please explain how to install lowering springs | the slam wagon build | part 2

yo what is up what is happenin welcome back to another episode of those cards and today we're gonna show you how to lower your car so normally to tow your car we would recommend using coilovers but because this is a budget standstill we're going to sit up with these super load or tender they are super low springs which is coming slam this beast way ground lamb wagon whoo so as you guys can see the slammer again definitely needs to be slapped so the first tip you want to do is that you want to get all four points on the car jacked up off the ground and get one of your bros to take off the wheel because you can't be stuffing yourself do that's a really small tire look at that whoa drum brakes to do alright so once you have all four wheels of the car off the car what do you do Nathan if you get there that's right I see that's right 1989 those balls have been on this since since factory and yeah rusty my friend bro your bids so read a so once you see our sees those bolts you probably don't need to a most cars oh this one's pretty rusty so we're doing it because we know we're gonna have some trouble you can open the bonnet and you'll find usually there's some shock towers with some pretty easy accessible bolts this one only has two bolts sometimes three sometimes is four depending on what car you head so you're gonna undo these bolts and then we're gonna undo the bottom bolts okay can I just say this we've all excited every single video that we've made but how good a ratchet now pretty good it's just like so easy so to make it easier to put a jack underneath your hub and just jack up the shop a little bit slightly and you can undo the top bolts this is really cool if you don't have one of these get one it's a magnetic tray you stick on your cup you can tuck your nuts on there you never lose them never crazy the next step is to undo your brake line and any other lines that might be on your shop we just got a basic cutter just that's just the brake one and then we don't undo these big bolts here that we see our scenes hopefully we'll be able to crank them off with a couple of breaker bus hey Nathan yeah where'd you find this tray I've given it by my homey Josh dude have you not heard about the tray bro oh sorry gosh slide it and now we can get to those toolbox easy as that Nathan have you done this before uh no yeah kinda not really what no yes yeah people fusing wait I'm confused right now Nathan now there are two breaker bars we're just gonna break them yeah you've done this before haven't you so look at this unnecessary use of extensions bro don't rip my threads boy oh that is a lot of dirt though that did coming from no that's very buddy Japan whoa that's a turbo goodness me that's probably never been replaced fiddle down boss it'll down you know this cows been well looked after I tell me well with after I start to use the spring compresses you paper IOC beyond that beyond that spring work are you doing once you've got the shock out it's now time to take the old spring out so to do that you'll need a couple of spring compresses so to use the spring compresses you put one spring compressor on each side and then you tighten them up gradually so you tighten this up for a little bit and then you'll tighten the other side up for it or under there other side up for a little bit and then you go back through this one you don't want to tighten one all the way at once because then you rest the spring popping out and hitting somebody in the face so you want to do them gradually and alternate between them for a bit and once you've got it compressed enough then we can pop off the top hat and undo the bolt on the top hat and get the old spring out and put the new one on this spider in there it's holding a spider egg box boy that's so freaky G straight up if you've got a vise it's much easier to you so actually just using that hey do you want some advice give it advice oh oh by the way Brad's here hey so this circular bit at the top of the shock is connected to the actual shock shaft and that actually turns as you're trying to undo the top bolt so ideally you want to get that clamp down and I know it won't be the same on all the cars but what you can do is you can get a vise grip in there and just clamp that shaft but ideally we just have a vise so we just clamp that top that into the vise and that way we'll just get the top bolt undone oh it's off remember what order that came off lovely thank you so we're taking the spring compresses off the old spring and as you can see there's quite a height difference between the lowering springs and the standard strengths so what what we'll be doing now is we'll be compressing the lowering spring so that we can put it back onto the strap and put all back together so we're just replacing the new spring obviously we don't need to compress it as much as the old ones cause they're quite shorter but I'm it's good to get a get a bit more push on them to fit a fish nice give that top hat on hey whoa so now that you have your loans from compress you can now go ahead and put it on these shock absorber if you have all shocks like these ones you can see that they yeah they don't work so yeah but so just pull those up all the way as how did you came over to the top as far as I can go and then yeah you want for this one over the top if your doctor this bad and I like going down by themselves by Calvin you need new shocks but this is a budget start sandals and we don't care about handling so they'll sit nice and snug on top this will come with that nice little nut and a washer on the inside which is so much office plastic extra height not needed so once you have this top piece on you can go here to put this top head on as well and it's just the nut that goes on the top of that tighten it up so what we're gonna do now is we're going to take the spring compresses off if you have a virus it's probably the easiest way to do it isn't the method yes check on the boys it just gives you a better extra hand but yeah and you're undoing the special bristles just make sure you keep that looking at the spring making sure that it falls into the right place with the top hand side and the bottom habit so what we like to do is that we like to use a vise grip just on the bottom of the spring and just keep the spring in place esra I'm doing the spring compresses and then that will keep it in place and then you can undo those and then everything will be all good in that so it doesn't line up we like to use a hammer and if you have a nice car you should have got coil overs in the first place anyway Wow so I make sure everything it's nice and tight and just before you chop everything back on just like this top bolt don't want that on coming undone while you're driving down the motorway okay no once you've got the spring in your shocks it up with your new lowering springs it's now time to put them back in just the reverse way of how you took them out so everything's on everything's tight what we're going to do now put the wheels on drop it down and see what it did all right you can't wait to see this one happy moment of truth everyone how low will it be gosh the anticipation the anticipation okay yeah it will get low it will get low let's do the back wait yeah yeah like these are only 13 yeah hard like the will judgement be real all right that looks pretty battery I got this that looks pretty bad not gonna lie that looks mean it looks way low I mean those are only 13-inch wheels so when we need some bigger wheels on there it'll fill up the guard oh gosh dude that's crazy that's so sick man it's actually slant a bit boy let's go for a drive bro we slam the wagon right it's it's amazing it's amazing that will burn sounds amazing their wheel bearing is gone but you still have wheel gap G sort of our and Springs brother that's what you pay for I can always do some bigger wheels on their back so then we have a destination store will become lower over time and we are hoping once we get some back wheels on us that it's gonna look I mean they are lowering springs slow I mean they're not gonna be expected to do as a job or boil
