hey guys Angela today's episode is all about home decor we did the dolce gabbana boots last week so I wanted to move it back into the home decor this week as you can see I retired the coffee bar that was behind me if you do not get check that out I will put a link above it is a great coffee bar idea for renters because it does not mess up your wall the way that I do it anyways I wanted to bring the lammer back into my dining space so I decided to revamp the bar stools that I had there they were $15 IKEA barstools we're going to give them a very glamorous luxe look very easily and then I wanted to give you a few design tips as you know this is my dining space my living space is directly behind the camera so when you have your spaces this close together I'm just going to show you a cute way or not qat an easy way to tie the two rooms in if they are kind of having a little bit of separation you know in the feeling of the design also I want to show you how to fluff pillows professionally the way the designers do it when they stage houses how to incorporate color into rooms that might have a muted palette I like to work with this caramel e-gold because I love Versace and I love gold but I didn't want to put too much shiny gold so I use a lot of the muted gold with that the palette was getting a little drab so I did incorporate color a few different ways that are really easy and inexpensive so I'm going to share that with you put your comments down below I do answer my comments every twice a week I'm sorry twice a week I log on to my youtube if you guys want to hit me up directly and get response that day head over to my Instagram my phones are always in my hands so it's just so much easier for me to respond to you guys on Instagram but otherwise hang tight I do like I said do my messages on YouTube twice a week and I do respond to everybody because I love you guys okay let's go ahead get started alright you guys so for this project obviously I am using my bar stool these are cheapies from Ikea they're like $59 I had those for a while and I've been wanting to rebound them for a while so today's a day and then I got some foam obviously opposite Joanne's and they have coupons to make sure you use those and don't buy until you have a coupon because otherwise it's expensive and then I order this fabric online this is my choice it's like an alligator print faux velvet so be using that and then pin obviously I'm going to use a razor weight and then just a staple gun and that's why I cannae this is a pretty simple project the way I'm doing it obviously there's a more professional way to do this but the way I'm going to do it is really easy so let's get started so I'm flipping the bar still upside down and tracing out the circumference on the foam and then you'll want to use your razor blade to cut away the material my razor blade was dull so I'm using scissors and just making it work okay so now I have my tape measure so I'm gonna go three and a half inches past the circumference of the circle when I flip it over alright so I'll show you what that looks like using my measure tape I am marking three-and-a-half inches onto the backside of the material I'm free handing the dots together and then cutting away the fabric I like to fold the fabric in half using one side as a pattern this is what you should have when you are finished now I'm going to go ahead and take the barstool apart so that I can easily staple the fabric on to the bottom of the barstool as you can see I'm doing the top and bottom and then the two sides I found it easier to turn the cushion on its side to staple the fabric around the rest of the barstool you want to make it as smooth as possible on the sides don't be afraid to go back and correct yourself like I'm doing right here I'm using a razor blade to take away the staples and then pulling it tight and stapling it back into place moving on to my favorite part the embellishment I am measuring the nail head trim and cutting away the extra I like to use scissors to place the nail and then hammer it into place so you just want to follow it around the circumference of the bar stool to finish off the look I am going to foil the legs using Mod Podge and 10 foil all you do is apply Mod Podge to the leg wrap the foil let it dry for a few hours and then use the Mod Podge again for a sealant coat and you are done now with the excess material I'm going to go ahead and make two pillows that I'll place on the couch that will help tie in the decor between the two rooms alright guys so I am wrapping up this left hello I got to finish sewing this one but that goes perfectly with my other gold I'm having a hard time getting this in here but I figure if women can give birth to children now let's start putting that the room together the barstools are complete and then my top secret pillow fluffing tip what you do is you slap the pillow karate chop it slap it a karate chop it and that is the way the pros do it when they stage houses a great way to add color is with flowers flowers can get expensive so I like buying baby's breaths I am putting these in for drinking glasses these are not vases so you don't have to spend any money there another great tip is using quartz salt as decor and fruit is always a great way to add color to a room apples oranges limes and lemons make great pops of color here is the finished space if you liked today's video please subscribe to my channel the calendar is full of great home decor videos for the upcoming season
