Please explain how to change the oil in a craftsman lawnmower

this is double-wide six and today I'm going to show you how to change the oil on your lawnmower most small lawn mowers like this use about 18 ounces of oil and they use 10w30 oil first thing you want to do is run the lawnmower for about five minutes and get it good and hot that'll help you drain your oil next tilt back your mower put something heavy on the handle then you can come up here you can loosen up your dipstick to let some air out when it drains you want to pull the spark plug for safety and you want to locate your plug down at the bottom which is down here and you want to put a pan and rag underneath the mower and keep the mower in this upright position once you determine which what size your oil plug is you can use either a ratchet or an impact and loosen your oil plug just like that and let the oil drain in the pan once the oil drains out and allow the borrower to take out a little more and just let it set until all the oil drains out of the mower I pour my oil into a glass measuring cup and the reason I do that is because it's very accurate it has a spout on it that's easy to pour and I also buy my oil five quarts at a time because it's cheaper here's a look at the oil plug I removed from the lawnmower when you put this back in you want to do it by hand and not with an impact wrench sometimes these are made out of plastic so you have to be very careful sometimes they don't have a six sided head on there and they have a square hole in them if that's the case you can just use a 3/8 inch ratchet socket like this put it right in the square hole and back it out now the oil is done draining we could put spark plug back on the lawnmower we can pull our dipstick out clean that off we can wrap a rag around here for added protection you can use a funnel or if you use one of these glass measuring cups you can pour it right in there nice and easily when you're done filling just put the dipstick back in start your mower run it for about three to four minutes then check your oil and see if you need to top it off my name is double-wide six I have a bunch of repair videos you can check out my channel thanks for watching
