okay so to make the traditional telluric style sling there's a few things you're going to need you to start at first is a decent size role of either natural handle board you will not want to use any kind of twine use tape measure that's ice about it I use magics just to burn off the loose can make boatload of either clothes hanger looks like this or alligator clips so to get started we're going to cut six lengths of our jutsu for him to five meters or around 15 16 feet we're going to use these six lengths double them over to where we end up with things running about separate round the recommended length of five meters or around sixteen feet is used to give you a basis to end up with a sling that's right around a meter long which is over three feet personally for my slings I like for the length of the sling to match more or less the distance from the tip of my finger in the end of my elbow which is about 18 inches that makes it around three feet which is less than beer so I tend 10 less than the environment recommendation 16th of recommendation I've just found through experience that that gives you a little a little a bit of an increase in accuracy because the sling a little less when you're trying to remove it through his rotations and it allows for a more natural okay so now this is the midpoint of the strands that we cut and we're going to use this portion to begin sewing together our finger loop now you're going to want to start to break this portion where it ends up being comfortably large for your finger you big mistake if you try and make it tight fitting chair finger because the material was snug up when you begin to braid these two strands back together and then you may not be able to get your finger back to yourself so let's started our midpoint we're going to back away from the midpoint about three or four inches okay go ahead and clip that section together and now we're going to take and separate our strands as naturally as you can into three separate sections of two strands each now we'll begin to make a simple parade with this section here now it's important to try and keep the loose end of the strings straighten out as you do this otherwise wind up with a big to try straight down once you reach a point but you think you might have enough to be able to sell your loop back together go ahead and try it out around your picture and just make sure you have sufficient space there know that this will shrink in when you bind these together that's fairly comfortable but another thing to take into consideration is this this hemp or jute material itself is fairly coarse which is why it makes a good sling but it also makes it uncomfortable for your fingers so a lot of the time two people will sew in some kind of right here either suede or leather something something a little easier to handle I would probably show you got to do that at the end of this video based on my actual grated version of the new section right now measure spell for wine 1/4 inches to about 12 centimeters now fun part happens we're going to loop this around remember this was the center of our of the entire length of our town of our port now we're going to double these over now instead of two individual strands of six we're going to bring this together into one strand well is to continue a simple braid like you were with three separate strands which means that these twelve you're going to lose them in two three individual sets of four strands and I think the easiest way to do this is to leave the two innermost portions of the strand and make one single strain out of those and then make these separate strands out of outside horses statinsky we have or here before here and those are going to make up in the three separate strands of our braids we continue down the first run of the sling and we will continue to braid down this first rung all the way until we reach the portion where we want to create our thumb where the star easiest way to start this has looped around something that you can easily slip it off of after you've braided it together go ahead and start the braid just get a few loops started pull your clips loose and then type your braids up as you can see once you get this started you have a perfectly secure loop let's light it back into what will end up being the run of our sling here so I want to make a be able to insert my stone that's got four inches in total so I'm going to count eighteen inches minus half of that length of my stone thong about 16 inches flip my braids right above my termination point here and this is the fun part I'm going to split my middle prey in half here right have two of the segments going to each side and divide those out okay and we now have six on one side and six feathers so this is going to let us do the opposite of what we did before with our with our going to braid each of these individually in groups of three groups of two to form our let's start that out now it's important in the phone to try and keep the plates fairly flat because you don't want to twist them or bunching up stone you want to try and manipulate plates here fall fairly flat against to a decent length of one side finished I'm not too worried about that being my inflate that's one of measures against what I have on the other sides other other side now before you get too far along with your second braid I want to make sure that your split of the joint is fairly even between the tube and you don't have it pushing out the one side too far one way or the other so that you get a good even split now the recommended song late for your stone out here is between 10 to 15 centimeters so six inches great 1/2 to 6 inches again a lot like the finger loop I go longer for my stomach pouch because you you cannot fit a large stone into a small stone out but you can fit a small stone into it into a large thumb here make sure when I measure them against each other that they are in line with my original length of here so that when I bring them back together we don't have they've worked pocket where one side goes out and the other does not because you will have uneven stone placement and it will affect your enemies is going to open up my plates to where they're joining exactly at the same spot when these are stretched the same length than in line a strand of hair before I separate them out into three segments of a core just like we split up here we're going to seam back together down there so you have our innermost strands here our outside strand in outside screen at this point to very deep sleep start this initial brain release my plates tighten them up and get a few more loops in before I check overall our found form right okay and now you can see these two links of the thumb when they're pulled together we don't have we don't have one that is bowed out your thumb looks like looks like this then you need to go back and redo your in plate and make sure that your two strands are even pull together fairly tightly so that when it stone sits and sit evenly in the middle of that phone okay once you have it have that down just begin to finish cleaning out to a far end just like you didn't first clip my sling together with the splits of the thon lined up Loosli we're going to measure exactly where I would pinch this arm itself or pinch that the sling itself be a comfortable spot for my finger not to play and it seems like about right years okay so I'm going to mark the end of this course and again being taught on both ends while you have your finger in the finger loop pinched here something to mark this portion great little further past it and then time not to where the knob comes to the inside where my [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] okay and you may need to snug you're not up a little further back or forward than loosen it and free time depending on well you've done at the market now it will tighten and move back further with youth so make sure not to get it too far back and you will end up with a little bit uneven weight distribution we're comfortably holding the sling loosely our thong splits are even so our stone will sit snugly exactly whether we wanted to we have a large enough pocket to be able to accommodate whatever size stone we want small stones will simply sit initially in here large stones can be accommodated resting within the here now all we have to do is trim off the excess material on this end and singe the ends finishes later see not so elastic which which makes it handle the stones better and last all right so if you're satisfied with your sling in its raw state like this then good for you you're done otherwise there are a few things that you can do to finish it out this would involve wrapping the finger loop and/or the thong material in another type of material and you have a few options here one is to simply make several loops around it all the way around with what I have here is waxed thread you would use waxed thread not standard thread because the waxed thread holds up significantly better the other option is to cut thin strips of leftover leather these come from these little remnant packs you can get at any kind of hobby supply store to be able to work with either of these things you're going to need at least a sewing needle big enough to fit your thread through and some scissors to cut it obviously I need to get different ones these are terrible scissors and if you're going to work with the leather then you're going to need either an owl or something else that you can use to punch holes down through the leather and of course a hammer or something to drive those holes to BAM I'm going to start with the finger loop piece here you just need a strip of leather cut long enough to be able to loop around as much of it as you want covered for your finger and then I'm going to flatten this out and loop it over on both sides [Applause] okay now I'm going to go through the material of the sling first through the bottom of the first hole in the leather material through the bottom of the top hole in the leather material and then tighten those down I'm going to go back through my original loop here pull this taut come back through this top hole now we'll proceed and mark the points for our second set of holes a little further down this time our our thread is on top so we're going through the top of the upper piece through the top the bottom piece when we do so through our sling material you you finish off the loop through the end here and tie off several times you [Applause] you
