Parelaphostrongylus tenuis is a neurotropic nematode parasite common to white-tailed deer, Odocoileus virginianus. It causes damage to the central nervous system. Moose, elk , caribou , mule deer and others are also susceptible to the parasite, but are aberrant hosts.
