hi my name is Alexis Guerrero so I'm a business consultant today I'm gonna talk to you about how to make your break room a little bit more inviting now I've been to a lot of different businesses and I've been in a lot of different break rooms and one thing to consider it shouldn't just be a room with chairs and maybe a water machine think about it it's a break room you don't want your employees to leave the office or to stray very far or some employees I know that go into their car and listen to music you want to have a specific area of your office where they can go and take a break absolutely forget everything about work so one thing to consider one it's for a break is so it should be relaxing whatever people do to relax now I know I like to listen to music so consider maybe you can have some comfortable chairs or maybe a couple couches to mimic when they're at home listening to music how about some charge stations I mean if they're listening or taking public transportation and they're listening to music on the way to the office maybe their mp3 players are starting to lose charge or maybe some of their tablets don't have as much charge so give them an area to charge that at those appliances something else to consider is do something fun recently I heard about a whiteboard where someone in someone would put like a funky question like what are you doing this weekend and give everyone the opportunity to just write something up gives them something to think about something to take their mind off of maybe the pile of work or pile of information sitting on their desk gives them something fun to do and something that if you take a few minutes to try to make a break room a little bit more exciting or a little bit more relaxing you'll probably have a little bit of a happier workforce and some folks who don't mind staying in the office as opposed to going out for a coffee and spending 20 minutes on the road or really you know taking focus away from what they should be doing give them a room to just sit back and relax so consider some of these things and think about what would you do at home to relax and do that in the break room good luck with your break room
