we're gonna do something we've done this before on the show but I want to explain why I'm showing it again I have very few DIY projects that I do myself very really good pointer I'm really good at calling people who know what they're doing but this I do these are chairs in our library you only do I do this myself and I'll tell you why it's because I don't have the patience to send chairs to an upholsterer and this is a textile that Jaron I found on a mountaintop in Laos we're travelling and it was hand done in this village we brought it home and then we found these old metal chairs and I mean a bit cool outdoor so we I ripped the cushions off and basically staple gun this 200 year old fabric to the chairs and that's good enough for me so we're gonna do it ourselves here you flip it upside down very easy okay all you need is a staple gun and you start with the back of the chair and just staple as close to the edge as you feel comfortable so the easiest way is to do the back then do the front because you want this to be and you pull this as tight as possible because you want this to be as clean as possible across the front I like a little kind of hospital corner it depends on the thickness of the fabric the main goal is to not have a seam at the top of the chair so you can just gather this this is how do you have like a corner here oh yeah I can't believe that this is therapeutic yeah this is so relaxing to me that's gorgeous yeah bottom line is you just do that on all four corners you tighten the sides when you're done you take whatever decorative fabric you've used and you can add pattern you can add color you can add texture to the room without a huge commitment it really does only take like five minutes to do
