right on this video I wanted to show you what it's like when it's about you know it's about seven degrees right now I'm on the 80 in Wyoming and you want to be careful in this situation because right now I know on the video it's hard to see but there's just a massive massive wind it's got to be about 40 50 degrees blowing from the right to the left which is actually South you know it's a north it's a northern mess here you know blown to the left here but what I'd recommend in this situation is you know like I said just stay off the brakes don't be hitting the brakes real crazy what I do is I just put one position down on my engine brakes I use two cylinders kind of build up some torque and I Drive kind of in the middle as you can see you know this truck here that's broke down I only had about four seconds to see it coming up so if you're going to kind of you know and a lot of people just by nature you know now go over here and I'll show you they just like to hug the right side of the road and that's not I wouldn't recommend that when visibility is really short because if you look to the left of the screen you can see when semis oncoming are in the screen you see that it takes only about three seconds you see that and you got the same amount of time as a semi truck parked on the right side or a car broke down or or who knows what it could be it could be even a frozen snowdrift that'll definitely you know smash the front of your truck and ruin the side of your fiberglass or whatnot but when it's this bad you got the whole freeway to yourself and all those guys are in the right lane right now we've all formed a team I wouldn't recommend Holland ass in the fast lane and no matter what you're going to find you know we call them Cowboys but if you want to drive 65 to 80 you usually see those guys in the middle of the freeway wrecked it's just not worth it I know right now the road looks pretty decent maybe on the video but it's just not when it's seven degrees literally that means the surface of the road is probably at with 50 mile an hour winds I wouldn't be surprised if it's minus 20 to minus 30 the 80s been shut down two full days now and it's because even with sand and salt it just won't it won't break through it's like Teflon these roads are just super slick so what I recommend you know just go 45 there's just no rush nothing's worse than wrecking your truck or getting you know of one person wrecks you know that can that can delay you for four or five hours even longer just take your time you know and I don't hit the brakes a lot I just put one position down if your truck does have engine breaks and I'd say just about 90 percent of all trucks on the highway do you know don't put all full inch and breaks down because if you do it almost locks your tires up but I just put one position down two cylinders is plenty to give me some nice torque to control the truck when I want to let off the throttle you know I can get over to the right a little bit you can see a car passing me right now just let them go a lot of Pat a lot of you know cars and trucks the public gets scared and what they do is they come up on your back bumper and then they get scared they don't go a while and then they get by this idea and then they won't go for a while and you know if you have to just let off the throttle just let them pass sometimes even if you put your left turn signal on or your blinkers or hazards it looks like you need to turn and they'll just hurry and get by you but it drives all of us crazy when a normal passenger car truck kind of drifts on the left and right side of us and they wonder why they get rock chips and whatnot so but if you're just a normal person driving on the road watching this video don't get by us get away from the bumper get away from the trailer don't try to go in the middle of the truck and just kind of drift a little bit where it's nice and quiet where there's no wind at all this isn't NASCAR so but anyway just wanted to make a little video and just show you when visibility is only about three seconds just be real careful because you just never know in the 80s a anyone that drives this is probably the worst damn from the winter but it makes you a better driver so today if you're a new driver you've been driving a long time you know what I mean but if you drive the 80 in the winter from you know let's just say God Salt Lake City well even Donner let's say 'don't Donner's pass you know donor's all the way california Donner's by reno all the way to the east coast is just a in the wintertime so all right we'll take it easy I'll film another video coming up here and hopefully help you guys out just to let you see what it's like in the real world here when you're actually driving up from a textbook so all right take it easy
