I'm now going to show you how to install the
gas struts and the hinges for the overhead slimline cabinets. We'll be using some drills and some screwdrivers,
some measuring equipment, and there's a lot of hardware with this cabinet. I'll just move a few things out of the way
and we'll get started. First of all, we'll attach the hinges to the
carcass and the door. The first step you have to do is actually
remove the plate from the hinge, just by pressing this button on the end. And just to make life easy for myself, I'm
using another base cabinet so I don't have to do all this on the floor. All the hardware you require along with the
instructions will be in the packaging. All the cabinets are pre-drilled for the hardware
and we use the small screws to attach the hinges and the hinge plates. Don't over-tighten the screws at this stage
because you may need to adjust the doors later. We'll now attach the door and then put the
rest of the hardware on. So this piece of strut hardware takes the
top end of the gas hinge and then the post that we put onto the door will take the other
end. Now we'll attach the gas strut. Attaching the piece to the door first is easier. And then you can push down a little bit if
you need to get it into the top fitting. And now we'll move to the other side and repeat
the process. And that's how we install the gas struts and
the hinges for the overhead slimline cabinet.
