hey guys if you think that crusty golden brown bread rolls are too difficult to make at home I'm going to be showing you just how easy it is with this super simple no need recipe for crusty bread rolls these Fred rolls are absolutely beautiful made right in your own kitchen with no kneading no special appliances or equipment no special ingredients and they take just a few hours but they can also be made ahead of time my name is Tessa and I'm from handle the heat comm where I love to share homemade baking recipes tips science experiments and so much more and today I'm so excited to be talking all about these crusty bread rolls be sure to watch this video all the way to the end because I'm going to be sharing my best crusty bread tips and the full principle recipe like always will be available at the link below this video so you can print it out take into the kitchen with you this recipe is super simple and I'm so excited to get started so I'm actually simply combining the four ingredients in this recipe in a mixing bowl that's how simple it is I'm adding two and a half cups of bread flour and actually I always like to weigh out my ingredients when I'm baking because it is so much more accurate and accuracy will seriously improve your baking tenfold so I'm adding eleven point three ounces of bread flour to my bowl and you can use all-purpose flour here but bread flour is preferred because it has more protein and will give our red a better structure and crusty texture I'm also adding in one teaspoon of fine salt and 1/2 a teaspoon of instant yeast to that I've added one and a quarter cups of lukewarm water and be sure to use water that's just lukewarm and not too hot otherwise it may actually kill the yeast if it's too hot I'm just going to give this a stir because it is a no need recipe I need to just simply stir the ingredients together and you can always use active dry yeast in place of instant yeast and pretty much any bread recipe you'll just want to add it with you warm water and let it proof for 5 minutes before you add to the rest of the recipe so I'm just going to let this rise for about two-and-a-half to three hours it is kind of a longer rising period but it will be so worth it and you'll know it's ready once it's light up kind of puffy on top and bubbly on top and now we can actually start to fold the dough over onto itself so what we're doing is it's just taking a bench scraper and we're kind of folding the dough over it onto itself about twelve times and you can add some flour to the dough to help make it less sticky because this is a very sticky dough and I'm just using a bench scraper so my hands don't get super covered and sticky dough and you don't want to add more than two tablespoons of flour in this whole process because we want to keep the dough nice and wet and sticky and the reason for that is because a nice sticky wet dough is going to yield very crusty texture once the dough is baked so now I'm simply cutting the dough into 8 equal pieces because this recipe makes eight rolls and then I'll shape them into perfect little balls and again we don't want to add too much extra flour if we can help it here I'd rather my balls be a little bit sticky and uneven and then add extra flour because extra flour will make the bread more dense and it won't be as crusty so whenever you're looking at bread recipes if you're wondering exactly what the texture will be if it's basically just flour yeast and water then you know the bread is going to be on the crusty side especially if it's a very wet sticky dough if it has ingredients like butter oil or eggs then it will probably be a more light fluffy dough or bread so I've just let the rolls rise for about 35 minutes or until puffy and while they were rising I preheated my oven to exactly 425 degrees and they bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until nice and golden brown and you really want to make sure that your oven is exactly 425 degrees otherwise the rolls won't get crusty enough use an oven thermometer and I've linked to my favorite one in the description box below this video absolutely beautiful alright guys so that's exactly how you make these beautiful golden brown crusty bread rolls as you can see it takes just a few simple ingredients no needy anyone can make this recipe it's practically foolproof and it's perfect for any special dinner or holiday occasion and as you can see I'm about to take a bite here it's crusty on the outside super fluffy and soft on the inside absolutely perfect and as I mentioned the full principal recipe is at the link below I have tons more bread recipes if you'd like to check those out too I'll link those below and thank you so much for watching if you did enjoyed this video be sure to give it a thumbs up and share it with your fellow carb lovers I'm going to take a bite and I'll catch you around next time
