avocados can be pretty tricky sometimes in this door you may pick one that you think is good and when you get home you realize it's not as ripe as you thought it was going to be I've read a bunch of different tricks and tried pretty much all of them one of the common ones is to put it in a paper bag and let it ripen for a few days I mean I'm from New York I don't have that much time when I line Alba kado I want to use it right away so the thing that I tried to do is to use the process of heat to speed up the ripening of the avocado and it worked so all you do is you take your avocado oil wrap the avocado in the foil and the reason that you want to wrap it is because the same kind of ideas of a paper bag what that does is the avocado and it's actually the same thing with bananas they released ethylene gas which is basically like a carbon dioxide cat type of gas that goes out and then comes back into the fruit and helps the ripening process speed up it's a natural process that would wrap in the fruit sitting in your bowl or in the supermarket over over our natural course of days but this is basically just speeding it up and concentrating that reaction so we wrap it up in aluminum foil so no air can get out put it in a little baking dish or a baking sheet cookie sheet put it in the oven at 200 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 15 minutes and when you take it out what you're looking for nothing arthritis of the avocado in general if you want a little bit of give when you touch it with your thumb between your fingers but not too much if it really as soon as you press on it gives in its past its prime and so you want a little bit of give but not too much so that should speaking that speed up the process of ripening your avocados open house
