Please explain how to bathe a horse | tutorial

hi guys so today's video is going to be how to bathe your horse and for this I'm using taffy as usual so you're going to need at least two buckets I recommend a large and a small one some brushes some form of sweat scraper and any sort of shampoo I have chosen Johnson's baby shampoo because this is the only thing that M Tuffy can have any skin he has very sensitive skin and we have tried various whole shampoos we actually comes out in little lumps and not anything serious but basically he just has an allergic reaction to it so we use Johnson's baby shampoo because he doesn't with that you also want a sponge and some clean towels depending on how thick your horse's mane and tail is you may also want to use a comb but taffies is too thick so you're going to need a hose pipe or some water supply and and some buckets to put water in I recommend filling it partially with water from the hose pipe and then adding water from a kettle to make it lukewarm in with you're just going to want to dampen the area that you're starting with it doesn't matter what order you wash them I do Tuffy's body first starting with his neck so you just want to dampen this with a sponge before you add the shampoo you only need a very small amount of shampoo as it goes a very long way so you just want to wear this into a lather using circular motions this will also help massage your horse and increase their circulation and then I use a sponge just to sort of work it in and also to gently wash off any of the excess of soap and then repeat this for his stomach and then his bum and then I do exactly the same on the other side then it to rinse off all of the soap and to make sure it's all gone I put the hose pad directly onto his coat as you'll see I have it on a very low setting it's not on full-blast at all it is quite gentle I then move on to his legs and apply the same techniques of wetting his legs with the sponge then applying the baby shampoo massaging it in and then rinsing off I pay particular attention to his feathers and it's a good idea if you have like an old dandy brush or something to use that to work this open on the feathers as a M cleans them a lot better than just by doing it by hand so once while is like so done it's then time to do their tail and with taffies tail is very thick and a nightmare to do so I start by actually applying and the sponge to the wet sponge to the top of the tail to getting used to that and I'd recommend standing at the side of your hold I stand at the back of taffy just because I've bathed them so many times that it's not an issue and but obviously any horse can suddenly spook and especially around that bomb if you get any like cold water and then bomb or anything they will shift pretty quickly so once I've wet with a sponge I then pour some water on his tail because you really need to thoroughly soak it and then I recommend putting the end of your horse to tell if they will allow you in the book it to completely drench it and then just go ahead and rub your shampoo in again I'm using the Johnson's baby shampoo and it takes quite a lot of getting out as well so once you've rubbed it all in and it might take a while for it to all wash out so moving on to the main this is taffies at least favorite part so I start by watching it with a sponge just because he sort of gets him used to it I don't which his flock or his face because he just will not done for that and he's a bit touchy when you do is main it the best so I don't venture any further than his ears so when you're doing their Mane it's good to have something like a jog or a cup or something small that you can pour the water on and I just gently pour a bit from the bucket and to make sure it's all soaked in and then mix in the baby shampoo and then just rinse it out finally I then sort of rough dry taffy using a sweat scraper which I've lost the footage of and then I just use some clean towels to roughly dry his Mane tail and feathers and also all over his body but his mane tail and feathers are the bits that I paid the closest attention to so that's the end of the video thank you so much for watching I hope you enjoy this and I will see you guys soon bye you you
