hi I'm Caitlin with embroidery library with an embroidery quick tip organza is a woven fabric made from silk or synthetic materials such as polyester add embroidery to organza to dress up sheer curtains scarves dresses and even Sun catchers I have some tips and tricks to help you get great results when embroidering on this light and fanciful fabric I'm embroidering on polyester organza unlike silk organza which requires dry-cleaning polyester organza can be hand washed or you can machine wash it using a gentle cycle polyester organza comes in a large array of colors and textures since organza is sheer most types of stabilizer will show through the fabric I'm hoping the fabric with one piece of heavyweight water-soluble stabilizer I'm using sulky ultra salty lay the stabilizer on top of the fabric and hoop both layers together then tighten the hand screw since both sides of the design will be visible I'm winding a bobbin with the same color thread that I'm using in the needle at each color change I will change the bobbin to match the top thread color embroider the design open light stitching designs work best when embroidering on organza they allow the fabric to drape beautifully and also let light shine through I'm using a size 75 11 sharp sewing needle when embroidery on organza the sharp point of this type of needle leads the smallest holes in the fabric as it sews after each color sews remove the hoop but do not unhook the fabric change out the bobbin to match the top thread color attach the hoop back on to the Machine and continue sewing the design when the design is finished trim away the excess stabilizer then soak the fabric in water to remove the rest blot the fabric with paper towels and allow the fabric to air dry then with your iron set on low place a pressing cloth over the fabric and press I made a Sun catcher with this design add the fabric to a hand embroidery hoop add a ribbon hanger and hang it in the window slide up any room with these pretty shimmering decorations watch our video to see how it's done thanks for watching today to find more quick tip videos machine embroidery designs and tutorials visit our website WWE mV library calm you
