now you may have heard of problems with busy Lizzy's in the past few years in the UK and they've specifically affected busy Lizzy watery Arno type so that is variety such as accent super elf in tempo so if you've grown those type of busy Lizzy's you may find that your plants tend to wilt towards the end of the summer and that's actually a fungal disease getting into the plants and your first reaction is to water them a bit more but that actually makes the problem a bit worse so it's very difficult to grow the traditional form of bees Lizzie in the UK now so we're trying to offer customers an alternative a busy Lizzie that has downy mildew resistance inbred into the plants one of the best examples of a plant that combats downy mildew problems is a busy Lizzy called divine mixture and this is based on the New Guinea busy Lizzy so it's in Pat Ian's Hawker eyeblood which is completely different to the common busy Lizzy and doesn't succumb to downy mildew so it really is a downy mildew proof variety very very versatile as well you can grow these in sun or shade they're very big full plants as well so they've got a very tropical look to them the common busy Lizzy often had to be cut down in the middle of the summer in order to make it Rees Prout and kind of become bushy again but these plants don't have that problem at all they look good all through the summer they're a little bit longer flowering as well you can plant them everywhere you can plant traditional busy Lizzy's but they will just flower for longer more successfully and will be a hundred percent healthy you
