Please explain how to restore a weathered wooden fence for cheap

if your backyard fence currently looks like this then this video is for you we're gonna be taking it from looking like this to looking like that so that we can prep it and finish it off to stain it good afternoon everybody how's it going this is Nate with ruthless garage today we're doing a little DIY home project we're gonna be taking our weather looking fence bleaching it to get all the dirt and draw and mold out hopefully and we're gonna be staining it probably next week so this is part one of a two-part little series for this DIY project next week we're also gonna be bleaching the porch and hopefully stain that as well but for right now we're gonna be bleaching the fence so in order to screening a couple things first of all you need some clothes that you don't mind getting bleach on so for now I'm gonna take off my jacket all right out the jackets off let me get to work getting a couple other things first thing it's gonna be some concentrated bleach just regular bleaching of the storying in a Walmart Lowe's carries it just any bottle of bleach second thing you're gonna need in the backpack sprayer which runs you about 13 maybe 20 dollars and at Lowe's Walmart and or you can do what I'm doing conditioning spray bottle my yard isn't that big there's no other fence so the spray ball is working fine you're also gonna probably want some rubber gloves I however do not have them because I forgot them you can also wear safety glasses when you sprain above your head where it could fall down your eyes oh I should put on safety glasses as well and try not to breathe in this the vapors from bleach so just stay in a well-ventilated area but that's pretty much it you also will need a garden hose or some way to wash off the fence as far as bleach dilution goes I did about half and half maybe a little more bleach than water and what I did is I would do in here and then once this got to halfway I'd just add water in and then you get a little more bang for your buck as a bleach and you also get a little more dilution now bleach will affect plants if it's in a very concentrated amount I've had any issues with diluting it and using it near plants however I wouldn't recommend it it basically changes the pH level in the soil which will inhibit plants from growing in that area if it's in a strong enough concentration so what you can do take your a bottle fill it up also be in a place either my spelling Beach is a little bit of quality we'll spin now as far as the process goes it's a very simple process you just want to be thorough let it sit on there for about ten minutes after you spray it and then wash it off and then let it dry all you're gonna do you just start at the top and just go one board at a time make Madrid hit all spots which might be you here with a backpack sprayer but as I mentioned I don't have that much offense to work with so this is the cheaper option it's been about 10 minutes so and rinse it all and then we'll let it dry as you can see you can get all the mold off but we can always go back and do it some more to try to get it off I think it will look a lot better once it dries here's what it looks like when it's closer to drying and that's what it looks like everything just straight off and we're gonna let that sit out I'm inside where it's nice and dry now you want to fence it and dry out and hopefully in a couple days we can get that coders thing put on and it look really good but that's gonna be in part two of this little DIY project but I hope part one was helpful if it was leave us a comment like the video hit the subscribe button to finish watching this series and see more videos on projects as well as gear reviews and adventures thank you guys for your support thank you for watching I hope you all are having a great day peace
