hey how's it going this is Rob from Justin's toys and today I'm going to show you how to wrap a gift diagonally and what that does is it saves paper and it looks neater because the folds are going to be on the edges of the gift as you can see that's what the finished product looks like so using conventional methods what I would do if I were to wrap this gift right here since it does it meet the length or width enough to cover that side I would pull out paper so that the paper is going to go all the way around for sides of this gift as you can see that is 26 inches of paper and that's a lot when I should only be using 20 inches so what you want to do in order to cut your paper the right size is you're going to create an imaginary line from one corner to another on this gift and that imaginary line has to be parallel to the edges that you're cutting so it's going to be parallel to this line here and this line here and then you're going to place it so that the paper is cut so the paper can come up and over that edge on this side up and over this edge on this side so as you can see this is enough and this is just 20 inches of paper versus the 2600 so I'm going to cut right here and like I did before when I was cutting the edges have to be parallel so in this case I am going to place my gift like this where this imaginary line is parallel to those two and then I'm going to grab two opposite ends of paper itself and I'm going to fold them over now you know that you cut enough paper when paper is going over this corner over this corner over this corner in this corner it was like this where I was hanging out that means you didn't cut enough paper or that diagonal rap is not even possible for the gift you have because it is too big so once you do that I'm going to pull down with my hands make it nice and tight and I'm going to put a piece of tape right there all right then I'm going to take my hands and just pinch a crease on the four top outer edges and then take my hand fold down and then create a crease on that bottom fold down create a crease right there on that bottom fold down create a crease right there on the bottom fold down create a crease right there on that bottom alright so once you do that I'm then going to pull up right here from this corner and I'm going to adjust this crease right here so that it is going to line up perfectly with that outer edge alright so as you can see it's aligned perfectly then I'm going to create that crease over here I'm going to adjust until this fold right here is aligned perfectly with that outer edge and if is right here so create that crease then I'm going to pull this down take my tape take this right here and then the to strategically best spots to put tape is going to be right here and right here all right now I'm going to do the same thing with this side we're going to push down push down a little bit not all the way and then fold up and then adjust this crease so that it's aligned perfectly alright now it's a line pull up and fold here just it so line pull up and fold and then pull this back put tape here and piece of tape there right here where this comes back in and then one piece of tape right there alright and there you have it that is a diagonally wrap gift as you can see it's almost like perfect I think way more appealing than the regular method and it saves paper so why not save some trees while you're doing
