hi this is a call-out for all those scallions or green onions do you know the feeling of when you want to prepare something really really tasty but you don't have enough scallion or green onion at home hi my name is neva vache from boom kuhmo I give great tips about all kinds of things that you can do at home and in this video I'm going to show you how to grow scallion or green onion at home so this is what it looks like when you have it growing in a pot if one of them went a bit crazy but it's as tasty as the regular product this is what I start out with an onion that I bought at the supermarket you can see that the roots here look very dry and that's a part of growing the onion the the scallion the green onion afterwards what I do is I usually peel off this part having warm weather lately you can see that sometimes before you even treat the onion you get these that are already growing very nicely so if you have one of those you can actually use these but it's okay to start with this one as well the plants that I showed you earlier our clients that I grew from something like this once you peel the onion you put it in a jar I wanted to show you I hope you can see with this angle you need to choose a jar it's best to choose a jar because it's clear enough to the sun--the room and you can see when the roots grew it's best to choose a jar that the onion will fit in comfortably and the roots will be able to get enough water if I put it in this jar it has less room to sit in and I'm not sure it will get to the water once the root grows it's not a problem because all the roots grow downwards into the water they don't float on top like the dry roots after you see that this grew white roots you'll be able to plant it in the ground you can also leave it in the jar I like to plant it I wanted to show you what the white roots look like this is a few days later you see there are white roots growing from the bottom of the onion you have to remember that when you put it in the first time around you have to make sure that the water touches the base if it touches the dry roots on the bottom but doesn't reach this part then the roots will probably not grow once you have the white roots growing they'll grow down and they'll grow into the water so the water level will not be a big problem but until then you need to cover up this part of the onion to make sure that the roots start growing out I wanted to show you what happens after a while to the onion in the pot you need to take into account that starting full it ends up after a while shrunk and the plant will die after the onion is sort of dissolved because this is the food source of the plant so this plant will hold out for a while and you'll be able to cut off scallion and after a while it will dry up and you'll have to throw it out but you could always plant new ones they're very very easy to do and they grow quite quickly especially when you put them in a sunny place and you water them properly so there you have it this is how you can grow fresh scallion or green onion at home please let me know in the comments below how it worked for you did you manage to grow it and what kind of recipes used it for if you like this video you're welcome to subscribe to my channel to share this video with your friends please check out my site you'll find it the link in the description below I have all kinds of great tips waiting there for you have a great day and enjoy bye hey hi hey this is a call-out for all those scallion or green onion lovers do you know the feeling of when you want to prepare for leap do you know the feelings of when you want to prepare something really really tasty and you go to the refrigerator and you just don't please fry it in the comments below how it worked for you did you manage to grow it did you have enough fresh if you like this video please subscribe
