Please explain how to make a perfect poached egg, without clingflim, egg poachers or the microwave.

hi guys my name's Pete and welcome to the first horse Fitness cooking tutorial video today we're going to be covering post eggs and there's my talk to make sure that you guys nail this the next time you try we get the absolute X what we need to do is we need to make sure that our eggs are really fresh because if they're not they don't approach properly in the wash and go everywhere and a great way to check the freshness of your eggs is to simply chop it into a border war and if it's really fresh it will lay flat as you can see with this one excited to stand on its end so it won't be using that one for poach it would say that I would leave it to one side and try the other ones with a little bit this one should make flattened bottom that was good check the other one see your legs happy days right so if you want to save yourself a bit of time you can always boil the kettle and just pour the water straight in on the hob that way and as you can see now it's boiling and the bubbles are rather big the next step is to add in some white wine vinegar any white wine vinegar will do and what this will do is it change the pH level of the water and it will also change the boil as you can see I'll now start to boil like Prosecco and that's exactly what we want we want those small little bubbles bubbling up from the bottom because they're going to help to shake the egg quite wrong and all up around it well the water's boiling I'm just going to get some bagels ready and get those in the toaster a lot of toasters nowadays actually got Batum setting on the bottom so when you do what your bagels do the toaster just have a little talk of going on to give that on press we do the avocado with a point uh picado is make sure that I remove the stalk and just check the color this is a good color to waiting for 1/2 green half brown well I'm just going to get my own card already and all the devices when a knife down the tops of the fieldstone and then literally just roll the avocado underneath like so until it's all the way through then it's just simple case twist it by so let's remove the stain so now you can see the waters bubbling nice and softly locks echoes so what I'm going to do now is take it off the heat I ain't ready to go in but I like to use a stainless steel bottom pan but any nonstick saucepan will do and all I'm going to do now is crack my with your hand with a spoon and all I'm gonna do is I'm gonna get it close to the surface of the water and break it in really soft and then just let it drop right so now all we're going to do next we're going to use the Holy Spirit to just drag the edges of the egg white around and make a nice little shape and also hole shove it over to one side same with the other record what you can do after this point if you want he's banging it back on the heat and that'll help you cook a little bit quicker the way I'm going to do next is I'm going to prepare my avocado and get my babies ready but again same as before we're just going to use the edge of the spoon to roll it over itself while the air quiet is set in to get a lovely round shape all right so next we're going to make our avocados smash what do I get these out I don't really want the stork in there so I take my spoon just above the stalk all right start straight in the bowl so again with a second one avoiding the top of the stalk because nobody wants too bad there and then straight in there again what we're going to do that now is mash it all together right so before this is ready the obligatory seasonings don't go in a little bit of pink Himalayan salt and a little turn of black pepper as well and that is now really the wrong so a lot of people always ask me how long does it take to poach an egg and the truth is it depends on the size of the egg so there isn't really a set time I'm using quite small eggs today so they don't take you very long but in order to check how to um they are it's really simple all we're going to do is scoop it out with the spoon and just give the egg white poke and if it feels like it's done that nearly is we just take it out and stick it on some kitchen rocks right I'll get everything else ready okay he's done now so all we're going to do is just going to take them out of the water and leave them to dry on some kitchen paper and this will stop the cooking process within about 30 or 40 seconds after they've cooled down a little and that allows us then to crack on with the rest of the bagel right so the poached eggs are done all we're going to do now is finish putting our bagel together but last but not least the poached egg that's got a go on top just there like so I'm going to add a little bit of black pepper on there and last but not least all we're gonna do is put the roof on job is good and enjoy
