[Applause] hi this mat with appliance parts pros comm today we'll be showing you how to repair your appliance remember anytime you work on an appliance make sure it's unplugged or the circuit breakers are off so there's no chance of electrocution in this video we're gonna show you how to change out the GE washer agitator coupler it's gonna be a very easy repair and you only take a few minutes to show you how to do it if you already have one of these great if not you can click on the link below or get out of 'pliance parts pros.com when you open up the package you're gonna get the new agitator coupler the agitator coupler goes in between the drive shaft and the agitator the main reason be changing about is if the teeth have worn out and the agitator isn't turning with the drive shaft in order to get to the part first thing we have to do is open up the washer lid another way the lid open we can reach in and take the agitator out all it is is pushed on to the coupler so we're just gonna reach in underneath and pull it out you want to be careful as you're lifting on it you don't want to get hit by the fabric softener dispenser once you have the agitator out you can set it aside now the way of the agitator out of the way we can reach in with a 7/16 inch socket and ratchet and take out the bolt that holds the agitator coupler in if you have to you're gonna have to hold the tub as you unscrew it once you have it broke free you just unscrew it the rest of the way once you have the bolt out there's nothing else holding their coupler in so you can just lift it off the shaft and pull it out of the washer here's the old agitator coupler next to the new one if you already have one of these great if not you can get it out appliance parts proz.com to put the new agitator coupler on all you have to do is set it down onto the shaft and line up the teeth so it syncs all the way down then we can put the bolt back in and use the 7/16 socket tighten it down once you get it to where it's tightened down you may have to hold the tub and then just torque it down a little bit more once you have it tight we can put the agitator back in and snap it in place to put the educator back in all you have to do is line it up with the agitator coupler and drop it into place once you have it all the way down you have to push down on it so it snaps in once you have it installed you can close the washer lid plug the washer back in and take it for spin thanks for joining us for another successful repair brought to you by appliance parts pros.com check out our other repair videos on our site Facebook and YouTube you
