Please explain how to sterilize and prepare baby bottles

all right this is a microwave sterilizer do not call the UFO hotline too small anyway so what we're going to do with this is we're going to sterilize the bottles and a pretty simple device different people sell them by whichever one you want they all pretty much do the same thing first step you need to put bottled water inside maybe in some countries the water is so clean that you don't need to do this however where we live bottled water is the only way to go this thing has a little ring usually inside of it and they tell you that you sort of have to fill it up to almost at the top so that's what you do you just fill it up it's almost at the top and then you put this thing inside it okay then you're going to take your bottle parts and you're just going to put them aside there's little holes for things now I like to try and keep track of what I put in here to make sure that I don't mix up the sets and I wind up with partial sets when they come out so we've got five regular eight ounce bottles in here so we want to make sure we put the pieces for those inside so we go one two three four five and just put those in there kind of neatly good then we're going to take the two parts one two three four five and we just put these in the holes that they have given another hole just take the tube in it okay and then we need five regular-sized nipples okay one two three four five okay and again I try to make sure everything is nice and loosely spaced again we get the five regular tops okay five put them around inside go and five holders okay on then you seal it you need to make sure you close the lid so it stays closed because the pressure that builds inside it's part of what sterilizes it so then you just take it over to your microwave pop it in and you set it for five minutes on this particular microwave the instructions usually tell you if you need more time or less time depending on your microwave but five minutes seems to be the average of what it is you stick it in and yeah that's it for five minutes okay this is now sterilized for five minutes and you just take it out you said over here now something you need to be careful of is that it's very hot this plastic is still very hot and everything inside it is very hot normally on the boxes they say let it sit for a minute or two minutes or whatever I've let mine sit for a minute however it's still really hot inside you need to be aware of that when you open this up so you just slide it open and boom that's heat right there okay so just give it like a few seconds for all that sort of like cool off some people just like to take out their bottles and put them wherever and I actually like to kill two birds with one stone because I'm a guy and guys like to do that sort of stuff so what I like to do is I take top parts of the bottles out first okay now our baby is about eight weeks right now so she's drinking about 5 to 6 ounces of barley so what I do is I take it out right away and I go ahead and fill her bottle and I just line those all up one after the other you know when you're a kid and you watch cocktail and you want it to be a bartender well you know this is sort of like that so this is your chance not really again lift it up so you can see it and you know where you're filling it to and you don't have to pour it back and forth back and forth back and forth which I did at first you see learn from the guy who's had to learn from experience all right so now if I haven't said it before I'll say it again your hands must be clean okay so just clean it again if you touched anything since doing that because then the next thing you're going to do is you're going to take the parts like this you just assemble them and you place them in the bottles and you probably know what's coming next yep nice and tight and in the bottle in case you were still wondering if it's different for the next bottle it's not nice and tight and in the bottle okay next step take the nipple you take the nipple cap you pull it through till it pops and you screw it on okay then the cap on and you now have a sterilized bottle ready for the baby again in slow motion no not really you can put this on too now if you want and just screw it on it make sure it's nice and tight and last time okay and okay and now you're ready to do the next set of balls go fast place the bottles inside this one has six bottles this time so it's going to be a little bit tough go one fill it up lock it and then it goes into the microwave for five minutes now there is one other thing on sterilization which is if you have these little things pacifiers possibly you've already found out you do not sterilize these in our microwave I found that out when I heard a large bang from across the living room because these are filled with honey and honey explodes when it's and it can and in closed surface in a microwave so what you have to do instead with this and other things such as the breast pump you just fill up a cooking cooking pot small cooking pot with regular water you put it over here on your gas stove you throw them in after you've washed them you're going to boil the water once the water is actually boiling it needs to be 5 minutes and this goes not just for the pacifiers but other things like breast pumps love the breast pump mm-hmm because if you read the instructions these things cannot be sterilized in the microwave they have to be sterilized in boiling water so you just take them apart and you put them right in there make sure you get all the little parts up and not the actual pump part which they says does not get sterilized just everything but that and then you just let that go for five minutes and when it's boiled for five minutes not the two minutes it takes to get the water boiling depending on your stove but when it is boiled for five minutes you're done and that's how you sterilize the bottles the pacifiers and the breast pump thank you again for watching a close father hope you're not quite as clueless and we'll see you next time
