hello I'm Louise Hodges with green bug all-natural dot-com what we're going to talk about today is how to make your own mealy bug spray at home so I've gathered my supplies which I'll go over with you now first you'll need an empty spray bottle this is about a cup of water I have essential oil of peppermint some liquid dish soap some cayenne pepper and a funnel so that we can mix it all together so what you want to do is take the top out of your spray bottle and this is something you can get at any hardware store or grocery store whatever put the funnel in here and add the dry ingredients first so I'll add a little bit of the cayenne pepper and then I'm going to next to add some liquid dish soap which will take a while to come out and then the other liquids I'll add after this so that they will help clean out the funnel in the process mealybugs are about one to three millimeters long and they can affect all the parts of the plant everywhere from the roots all the way to the flowers here's the bowl of peppermint you want to get ahead of them because if they are unchecked they can create a lot of damage very quickly once I add all the ingredients then I'm going to put the top on and shake it up the cayenne pepper is a great retardant and it's also the hot oils in the cayenne pepper wool will kill the mealy bugs the soap will also help to suffocate them the Ola peppermint is also a corrosive to their outer coating and of course the water is what you need in order to have a carrier so there you go this is how you make your very own mealy bug spray I'm Louise Hodges with green bug all natural calm thank you you
