Please explain how to play the sax mouthpiece improving sound number 2

fix your sound on the saxophone saxophone is very easy instrument to play it's just the fact of getting a lovely sound that's the hard part so second part take our mouthpiece make sure you've got mouthpieces right for you but it doesn't really matter you should get used to whatever you've got you just change the reed if your mouthpiece has got a narrow opening you use a thick ring your mouth is got a wide opening mine's got a bit more of a wide opening i use a thinner reed whatever suits you whatever suits your mouth now when people mostly hold their mouthpiece probably attached to them they put their mouthpiece at an angle like this sideways like that that's quick loads of pressure on the reed giving you a harsh sound can you see okay what you really want is your mouth needs to be coming like that and what people often do is they put their lip over like that and then we get bottom teeth to hold them up we can place like yeah so i was chewing the mountains again it's going to squeeze the reed shut that's not going to work so we want map is coming in straight like that like that coming in straight like a cigar like like groucho marx all right all right pressing in to our top teeth not our bottom teeth our bottom teeth are not involved this bottom lip does not tuck over the bottom teeth whatever anyone tells you doesn't do that it just does that it sits next to them like that that's how it sits okay like that press it into my top teeth like that okay once you've got this idea don't play the saxophone for a little while just play the mouthpiece here's some notes so you can get a lower one can you get your lower get higher as well obviously should we get a whole scale eventually do you notice how much my mouth isn't moving when i do that i'm doing it i'm treating this as my new vocal chords my throat is pitching same as it would with my voice this is my new vocal cord i'm doing it with air throat's nice and open i'm slightly moving around to get different shapes inside my mouth but mostly i let my brain pitch it in here's a note of my head first there let your body work it out your body will work it out okay that's mouthpiece do that a lot practice that like every time you play a saxophone try and get a few notes on your mouthpiece maybe try for the old police siren sound okay
