you hello again last time we talked I had a hot chick next to me and I did not have a guitar in my hands so today I'm going to do something different a little bit back on track and show you how to fix dirty potentiometers or dirty pots not to be confused with fresh pots right so this particular pedal is the Ibanez ts9 also called the tube screamer and the potentiometers are dirty I'll show you to me as you can see it's got the funkiness going on with it and needs to be fixed so I'm going to show you a very quick and easy way that too quick and easy way to fix it that works most of the time some of the time 60% of the time it works every time but most of the time so let me show that real quick okay so here's the deal so what I'm going to do is I'm going to take some deoxy to above amazon's couple bucks a bottle it's electronic cleaner you can get free Amazon or probably like Lowe's or something I'm going to spray it all around and every little crevice that I can and then I'm going to turn those pots and yeah this we're going to do after we look at my cat for a second no reason really there's again like I said do this outside because this stuff is uh not good for you try not to breathe it either so I'm turning as I'm spraying there's a whole there's a hole right where those lugs are the hole there turn it all the way down you can't spray too much of it by the way don't get it in your eyes if it's windy out don't do it actually they probably can do too much right not good for you just work it back and forth like a net pot back and forth cat it's really not good for you to be out here yep go on excuse me Qi know do the tongue pot all right now we're going to button it all back up and put the screw back in etc etc put the screws on the back plate and we will plug it in all right so we are plugged right back in and we're gonna give it a try and see what it sounds like oh and again I'm you plant the offender hot rod deluxe by the way with my whitfill Telecaster Oh you that fixed it alright so that was a super easy fix you'll find this happens to pedal does the edge a little bit to get some dust in them and they get some crud just because the potentiometer is a mechanical thing and anyways works a lot of times most of the time pretty much you can also do it on switches too if there's a hole opening in the switch you can spray on the switch and just you know turn it on and off the bunch that helps to sometimes jacks as well I can screen up jacks and then plug and unplug the cable as well power cables same thing if your if your power cable make some noise try doing that in your power cable as well and keep mine that's all stuff you want to do when the pedal is not plugged into power okay like don't spray liquid into it when it's plugged into power because you're going to void your warranty also you'll have nasty stuff on your hands so after you use the docks it go wash your hands so like it's pretty nasty stuff's pretty pretty bad stuff but it's good for clean a pot so alright hope this video helped you if you have any comments or questions make sure you comment below I'd appreciate if you like this video to give it a gigantic thumbs up actually it's probably like a little bit umm so maybe a small thumbs up and of course you know share this with a friend or relative or a parent or something you know girlfriend whatever boyfriend thanks for watching we'll see you next week you
