hey guys I wanted to make a quick video on how to remove a wheel locking lug if you've lost the key to it there's usually a couple different styles this is one of the styles you'll see it's basically got the little ridges on the outside and the key will slide over the top and fit the pattern or the other ones you'll see is the style that has little valley on the inside here and the key slides right into that now a lot of the videos I've seen on YouTube were that latter of the two so I had to figure out a way to get this one off so I ended up using a 15 millimeter socket 6-sided make sure you get the kind of six side and not the the 12 sided ones aren't gonna really bite into the metal as well now when you start pounding that on there you'll see that the socket will actually remove some of the metal and it'll take the shape of the socket and the important thing is when you start driving that socket on there you want to make sure that the socket seats all the way down at least at least 3/4 of the way down there's the flat part of it and that's gonna give you a good bite once that's all the way in there and seated all right once you get that off then it simply you just either use a breaker bar or a impact wrench and take the screw off and then though the other trick that I used was they loan once I got this off obviously you can now have a stud that's stuck inside of your socket so I just basically took it into the shop into the vise held held the socket in the vise and then stuck a basically one of those Dewalt little bit holders and you put it in a drill it fit right down through the hole of the socket and then tapped out the stud and I'm good let me show you real quick how to actually do one in live time here it's gonna be a little tricky to hold the iPad and tap the zone at the same time but we'll do what we can this is gonna be put an extension on the socket so that I don't have to worry about damaging my room see how far away drive it now simply stick your brake of our ends get me a good yank and how she comes just like that again we'll show you real quick how to regain your sake back alright we'll just put the socket in the vise-like so I apologize for the camera it's shaking all over the place take justice they'll pick plain old D Walt a little bit holder you sticking your drill fits right inside of the socket like that fights a little bit and it doesn't always work on the first try sometimes not on the second try either but you get the idea take three there goes high now you got your socket back wheel locks off and you see what happens to the socket there to the nut see how it actually cuts away that metal and creates a the same shape as the socket all right good luck
