this this will be a good area the grounds clear to start with virtually access to the field which will make it quieter for approach its increase and rubbish out of their natural highs if you like fallen trees rhododendron bushes to hide up in so we'll go for this tree here get it on here and then I'll clear some some of the hazel and bits and pieces out the like a little bit in the ground if this is standing with nettles and brambles you've not got a clear shot and explained quite a bit at a time on the ground very in the food so if you can have an area around your feeder it's very clear it's more my chance of getting shot something like this here brilliant for the squirrels they they love to sit off the ground so gross squirrel for example might come up to the feeder taken out and it'll stop there there's another point for you to take that shot where it stopped just a bit off the ground giving you again a clearer shot haven't got anything like the natural fallin piece of wood here that's off the ground just get something and bring it in while I'm putting it there you'll eat a lot this oak tree as a backstop yeah if you are coming down there the fence line we need to clear some of this rubbish in the way in line with the feeder here take a little bit of time but it's worth just taking that bit of time to play stuff again giving you a clear shot but clear line-of-sight here now and all that stuff's out the bike another thing with our feeders is can use that area for trapping if need be you've already done the hard work by bringing the squirrels into a certain area right this is the feed that I use this one is got monkey nuts maize hazelnuts sunflower seed and peanuts but monkey nuts and the hazelnuts will go first and then they'll start on the sunflowers peanuts the maze is a great will take the kernel out say a lactating female but they're not that fast about mice the reason we put my easy knees graze love it so if you go to your feeder and you've got a third of it left with mice chances are you haven't got a great squirrel there if the maze all of a sudden start disappearing I mean everything goes and you get little bits whether you can see they've been chewed not 100% but nearly you've got a gray squirrel coming to your feeder I also usually spray a bit of aniseed the top to liquid like the game people use in their pheasant feed it's like a holder just for to give it a bit of a potent smell I usually just put a little bit on there where it's a new feeder setting a bit there and then I'm usually Scots I'm on the ground as well get the leaf matter scrape up a bit just a little area you release that potent like a flesh soil smell I mean because I can smell it now already the the fresh smell and you're working on you know squirrels you Center to find things so we filled that up now and basically the squirrel come down and throw you up the tree round onto the platform they lift lift the lid with their head and take what they want yeah reason for this is it keeps the food dry and it stops not that we mind feeding some little birds because they get plenty of it but if you had missed next from there they would just pick at it and there'll be nothing left for the squirrels
