Please explain how to apply moisture cured polyurethane to macrocarpa

welcome to Cyprus all the purpose of this videoclip just to show how to prepare one of our macrocarpa lemon tops for women the first thing we're going to do is cut this piece of timber to the right length at the moment the woods 620 millimeters and the length we need so I'm just going to measure this here remark at 800 then draw square line then I'm going to back off this line 100 millimeters then through another line and this is where we're gonna fix our guide piece but when the skills all comes through it cuts exactly on this line so what I've just done here is I've screwed on a guide piece on the slide here which is exactly 100 millimeter millimeters away from this light here so when I run the skill sore throat it'll cut exactly on this line so having cut the length now we just need to round the corners and you can use a piece of sandpaper you could use a sander in my case I'm going to use a router with a rounding but I'm going to use normal sander to take the sharp edges off the corners here and also on the other side now that we're just about ready to oil the last thing we do is just give the top surface a light saying just to get rid of any little imperfections and it's important not to set it too okay now that we've got the service standard it has dust free we've got two options to close it with we've got the Osmo oil which is more of a natural non glossy finish and it's very easy to apply the other option is the moisture cure polyurethane they'll give you a quite glossy finish which is very hard-wearing and if you want to see how to apply that check the description below okay with the moisture cure polyurethane it's important to thin the first coat between 15 and 20 percent to get a good penetration into so sealed both sides with a thin coat of the molecular polyurethane using a foam roller and there they disposable don't bother trying to clean them out and we're gonna have to wait for a day for this dry and then we will do the second coat okay it's the next day and the moisture clear polyurethane is nice and hard and with the first coat on Turner the grain nearly always raises up so it's a bit rough on the surface so we don't need to rub it back with either steel wool which is really good for getting around the side so on the corners or we could use a portable sander okay you know we've got the first pad standing back and that's all nice and smooth and we've dusted off we're really for the second coat was GQ polyurethane and very similar to the first trade except we don't assume the coat that just goes on straight out of the can now we've got the second cake done we'll let that dry and it may need a slight rub back again it should be pretty smooth but might go right back with some more steel wool and then you can apply the third and final coat this is day three and we've done two coats and it's looking pretty good there's a couple of sort of rough patches so we're going to run it back with some more steel wool and do the third and final coat okay so here we have it the finished product a three coats of moisture cure polyurethane to give a good tough partner to surface on metal cap eliminated to the tops
