welcome back to the five cups of life my name is Juan Ethan I thank you for joining us on this how to make a homecoming mum video if you are new to our channel welcome and if you haven't subscribed yet please be sure to hit that red subscribe button below and join us here at the 5x of life so the first thing that you'll need to do is gather all of your materials and supplies that you'll need for this project I purchased all of my materials from Hobby Lobby but you can go to the store of your choice and I had the supplies that I needed which is a glue gun glue sticks scissors a stapler a ruler and those sorts of things but if you don't have them you can always borrow them or also purchase them from your local craft store and the second thing that you'll need to do is find a very comfortable spot where you can put these items down I chose my coffee table and I use the footage sheet to cover it up to not damage it with the glue gun or scratch it with the scissors and because I had to work on this over a few days I went ahead and just placed it there and I was able to move my coffee table and nobody had to use that or bother it at any point so the first thing that you'll need to do is glued your flowers to your backing whatever the back of the flowers that you choose they sell those at the store or you can make your own with cardboard or a poster board we chose the heart shape as you can see here and we put three of the big flowers on it so after gluing those flowers together I began to work on this chain of hearts I actually found a video on YouTube on how to make this I made my own sizes I believe I cut those strips into six inches that I can probably put in the description box the size of ribbon that I used for the hearts and the size of Evan that I used to stapler the heart on too but again it's a pretty simple process if you probably can learn how to do it just by watching the few times that I do it on here it's very simple and it just adds a really nice touch to the mum and there's our beautiful daughter faith popping her head in to say hello to everyone but here's the final product and this is what it looks like when you've completed your chain and you've got it to how you want it so for the center of the mum or the flowers usually you put anything that you want in there our mascot is a lion so that's what you'll see me attaching here with the glue gun is a cute little lion at the center of these flowers and then you just put them aside to let them dry for a while then you start to arrange your strips of ribbon the way you'd want them kind of give yourself a visual of how you want to lay them out it's better to do those than to try to glue everything on when you have no idea what you're doing so I just kind of laid everything out kind of giving myself an idea of how I wanted things of course you can move things around and if you see here I placed some bells at the end of that heart chain and I put a little bling on the little bells just to make them stand out a little bit so here I'm cutting five to six inches of blue strips sort of like I did with for the chain of hearts and this is going to be where I'll be putting their names on to the mum so you just glue the ends together and then you prepare a ribbon that you want to glue these down to I have a bigger white ribbon and a thinner red ribbon and I glue the red ribbon on top of the white ribbon and this is where I'll be placing the blue strips for their names so then you'll begin to glue the loops where you'll be putting the names down and whatever you want to arrange them in this case I put his name first and her name underneath this and then you have that ready for whenever you glue the names and then here you'll see me going or stapling down the chain of hearts that is for a purpose I saw that on the B youtube video and it's so the chain of hearts is and twisting around but if you want to go and check out that video I'll try to link it below if not just look up chain of hearts for a mom video and you should be able to find it then again I just finish arranging the mum as I want it glue everything down then I'll take the top of the mum with all the flowers on it and I'll glue it to the the backing that where all those strips of the mum would be in the centre and you won't be able to see it so you take care of that and get it all go down and glue all the rest of the little trinkets that you have and set that down for ah and let it dry completely so that I chose for her to be able to put it on instead of clipping it on directly to her clothes I just sewed some ribbon on to the backing of it and I'll also be putting a clip so she can clip it on and off as she needs to so yeah that pretty much sums up our video of how to make the homecoming mom I
