Please explain how to install an inexpensive awning on an apache camper.

so today I want to show you guys how to do an awning for an Apache and the best part about this awning setup is that it's actually relatively inexpensive now there's many different ways to do something like this I mean there's always different methods so it'd get stuck on exactly what I'm saying here because you can always do it a little bit differently no big deal everybody's got their own thing but I want to show you this setup in particular because I saw it online and I thought it was awesome I this is not my original idea I love to give credits with people that came up with this but I can't find the post anymore which is one of the reasons I'm making this videos because some of the search options like on Facebook are kind of limiting and lots of posts is not on facebook it's kind of hard to find that information unless somebody else you know save the link somewhere or something like that so I want to do this as a video because if I just did it on Facebook it would disappear in about a year you wouldn't be able to find it wherever on YouTube it's always going to be there and like can be shared over and over again so I am must apologize to the people who did come up with this I'd love to give you credit but I'm sorry I can't find the original post if anybody knows who Richard originally came up with this I'd love to give them credit and if you could like leave it in the comment section I'll try to put it in the video so here we go here's a seventy-five LaMotta and we've got an awning on it now I'm going to show you how this works first up and obvious is well you've got some awning poles here these awning poles came with camper but they're available in many different places they have lifetime warranty ones from Cabela's for like 11 dollars apiece and they telescope up and down you can buy them at Walmart you can buy them you know on eBay or Amazon eat there's many places you can find these and on this awning fabric here on the pull you'll notice this and this is a tarp clamp I just bought these if my locker Kroger store or Fred Meyer and they're really inexpensive there only like 250 for a packet - and I'm running four of them the reason I've got four pools here is because you need the center pole so it doesn't sag now the awning fabric itself is an oligo awning replacement fabric I purchased it off by Amazon and I'll show you a screenshot of what where I got it at the end of the video and I'm going to show a screenshot that simple links and top clamp links tube and tip I'll show you how this works on a lot of the tachi they came with that an awning channel up there and when you get the awning replacement fabric it comes with everything you need to install it except for the poles in the rope and so I left this sticking out to show you this goes inside the tube that's sewn into the awning fabric so you put it in there and then you slide the whole thing into the channel now to make this easier it's a lot easier to do it before the camper is in the up position so if you install that into the channel before you raise the camper you're going to save yourself a lot of trouble unless you want to carry a step stool or a ladder around now the fabric also comes with this I don't know exactly what you call it it's like a scallops valence or something like that I chose not to use that because I don't like packing extra stuff around on the camper and I use these car plants like I said and when I tighten these they need to be extremely tight and you need to remember to the Hat otherwise they're just going to come undone and what I do is I'll grasp the pole with two fingers and I'll grasp this part with my other hand and pull it tight and that locks it on there pretty solid I've acted like with that now this rope is nothing special this is actually a clothesline from a dollar store and we use this because it's white and green and it matches the camper now something that's pretty important that I need to let you guys know about is when you tie this down simple sit tent stakes are going to do it now as you can see I've got a rope our loop tie down the end of the rope and I just lift it over the pole now the other end is actually secured to a boat trailer at the moment and when you're camping you're going to something very certain attach it to tend to take someone with you that they're not strong enough you're going to need to be able to tie it to trees or large rocks not something to keep in mind I think a dog tie down that actually screws into the ground might work but I haven't tried it yet so that's something very pretty important to keep in mind because any little bit of wind if it's not secured well at the bottom it's just going to rip it right up because it's like a giant sail there's also something else there that's really important that came from that original Facebook post and that's this little wheel right here and it's called an awning saver and it's really neat when you open and close your door without it what happens is the corner of the door will catch the fabric where it's sagging at and start to tear it little by little until well you've got a hole in your awning and that's no good then this little guy is actually really inexpensive as well I bought this off of ebay that there's other sources to buy it and I'll show you how it works so I opened the door a little wheel goes on the fabric the corner doesn't touch and right there that's a karate from a lot of a lot of damage which is probably well it's called an awning saver now there's two different kinds of leaves that I know there's probably actually more this was called a permanent and I went with that so I didn't have to worry about losing it or anything like that and it just screws on and they have one that's called a temporary or a removable one as well and it'll have a bracket that screws on and then this part can pop in and out so that's also a really nice feature of this particular setup so let me know what you guys think if you liked it or not if you got some way to improve this go ahead and feel free to leave it in the comments it always helps other people out to see other people I you know other people have ideas I hope this helps you guys out and I'm going to post the links like I said and happy camping you
