hello this is andrew reynolds and today i'm going to show you how to make a bowline knot now this not as useful just for if you have a row pain from a ceiling somewhere especially out in the farm and you want to just tie somethin up to it temporarily this is a great way to do it to create a loop at an end of rope so all you do is basically take the hanging rope and just kind of loop it over the top so that its hanging over the top of your existing rope or more close towards you then you would kind of crimp down on that just kind of pinch it together and from the underneath of that not you would take the remainder of your rope and this is about how big your loop is going to be whatever is left over so be conscious of that and then you would just go behind the original rope and down through that same hole that you originally started with and you're going to pull it tight from the top once again you're able to see that this was the size of the loop that we had started with is about where we're going to leave it and this is also very useful not if in a safety situation this is a of course you would make this a little bit bigger about the size of someone's waist and if you are pulling them out of a dangerous position this would be a great thing for someone to lash around themselves and hold on as they were coming up and it the also thing that's great about this is that this loop itself will not shrink when you pull from this angle so if this was tied around my waist it would not cut off my circulation or anything so that is your very basic simple bowline knot thanks for watching
