Robert Gibson was an American professional baseball pitcher. He played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals. Gibson won 251 games, 3,117 strikeouts, and a 2.91 earned run average during his career. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1981.
