it's your Roomba making this noise yeah mine too today we're going to learn how to fix this on how to fix it workshop hi I'm Greg and today we're going to look at my Roomba I love my Roomba it works really well because I have a dog that is constantly shedding so lose hair over the house this working you know every day keeps the hair down and it's great for that until recently or it started making a weird clicking noise and it it kind of arras out and tells me I have to clean the brushes but brushes are totally clean so today we're going to fix this whole problem alright start by flipping over your Roomba and what we're going to want to do is get this whole gearbox off and we'll do that by first we got to remove a bunch of screws around the corner here here here and here so do that now okay now that all these screws are removed remove this right there and this cover comes right off next we want to remove these four screws this one this one this one and this one and this will remove this whole gearbox system here okay now that all these screws are loose this whole box should pop right out and now we can put this aside and we're going to look at this so now we're going to want to separate the this frame from the whole gearbox here first thing you'll notice is this cable right here these wires are kind of hooked on to the frame we want to just get that out of the way then this should come apart three use a couple things I want to point out with this gearbox um I don't know if you could see it too good but there's the this right here is hooked to a little wire it hooks into your motor here so this really isn't going to come apart but it's enough where we can get to the side here that's what we need to get to so the side is probably where all my clicking is coming from because these gears aren't turning well inside here so I need to carefully remove all these screws so I can take this cover off okay all the screws are removed so I am going to take this cover off and see what it looks like I'm sure it is totally filthy on the inside whoa yeah if you have a dog with lots of hair and stuff yeah it's going to look like that so we're going to clean the inside of this as best as we can if you do take the these out which I recommend make sure you get tops and bottom of these get all the gunk off of them and make sure you remember where it was I found that pliers work really well to get soda if it is hair or gunk to get a lot of this hair off the post here I found another thing if you take a little toothpick it makes it easy to clean out inside the teeth of all these gears yours may not be as filthy as mine but hey this makes it so much easier when cleaning so I got a bunch of a dirt and hair that I got out of out of this thing but it is a lot cleaner than it was now I'm going to add some grease all around I just got some white lithium grease which I'm going to use around the edges and around all the gears that I put back in okay okay we are all greased up I'm going to put this cover back in place here and then I'm just going to screw everything back together the way it was forget to put this wire back over the little notch here okay now that we have it back together let's give it a try no more clicking well I hope you had as good of luck as I did with my marimba now that it's working now you'll probably have to do this again from time to time if you hear the clicking again because you're still gonna have dirt and hair feed into those gears so it's not hard to clean out so make sure you I would say probably about once a year would be what you do so anyway I hope you enjoyed this video please subscribe and we'll see you next time bye you
