hi welcome to make it with mod podge i'm kathy fillion and this is part three of our fashion school series hi i'm steve piacenza and today is all about ultra t-shirts we're gonna be showing you a new technique distressed silk screening using mod podge and we're going to be exploring block printing we're going to be creating our own block printing stamps using mod melts and we're going to be checking out the new fabric creation stamps yeah we hope you love these new techniques i think you will first add silk screen fabric to an embroidery hoop apply ultra matte chalk mod podge to areas where you do not want paint and let dry add a second coat make a cloud silk screen use a detailed paintbrush for detailed designs spounce and blend your paint for a distressed look next you're going to want to squeegee the base of the clouds bounce to distress and finally hand paint raindrops my favorite thing about distressed silk screening is that there is no rules to it oh and no mistakes that's right because that's the look and you know i love no rules crafting yeah i'm with you that's why we get along very very well and up next we are creating block printing stamps using our mod melts and wine corks which we also love oh i like wine for this design we are block printing a necklace onto a tank top i like to practice my design on a paper towel make a mod melt we're using a couple of flowers and a butterfly once cooled glue something to the back to create a handle it could be a ring base you can even use something like a cork use a block printing pad for best results grab some fabric paint and some brushes bounce a small amount of paint onto your modmelt stamp and then just get creating for our butterfly t-shirt we're using block printing stamps by fabric creations they work the same way as our handmade stamps did you'll just add a little paint to the stamp you don't need too much so lightly spouts and then you just stamp it wherever you want one thing that's very important is to clean up your stamps before the paint dries this way you'll get a good stamp each time use a scrubber brush and a little soap rinse clean and place upside down to dry we hope we've inspired you to create some new fashions with our new techniques and if you like fashions and mod podge be sure to check out our other videos where we're making over notebooks and tote bags and we're making some really cool faux boot cuffs and some mod melt jewelry and give us a thumbs up and subscribe to our videos if you enjoy them see you next time bye and make it with mod podge
