hi I'm Kimberly with a fat quarter shop and today we're a Natalia boner studio and she's going to talk to us about laravel team so Natalia tell me about your machine this is my machine it's a gamma premiere with the stellar stitcher included in it it has an 18 inch throat this is where all the co2 instead so tell me about let's talk about the different types of batting that if you're sending your quilt off to be equal today you can tell your log our culture you know what kind of batting you like so the first time we have is cotton so tell me about cotton batting when Harper start cotton batting it's a really nice padding it's pretty thin the one thing with a hundred percent cotton is it will shrink you'll get your very most of every kitchen 100% cotton so you get a good yeah absolutely yeah the antique look the next is polyester hundred percent polyester generally polyester management's are the most lofty so if you weren't a lot of loved some machine quilters will not use super lofty polyester beddings polyester batting however will not shrink so you won't get that scratchy look when you wash it another one of my favorites is the quilters dream wool it has a really nice not too much left but a little bit of left and it quotes really really nicely it's a little more on the expensive side because it is wool but it does wash beautifully and next one that I have here it's called midnight dream and it's by quilters it's a polyester batting it does about the same weight as maybe a Hobbes type betting but if you're putting on a quilt that has a lot of black backgrounds are a lot of black it's really nice to use because then you'll have any white fibers that cover up at masters my very favorite I quote the majority of wrinkles with the Hobbs lady 20 it's a really nice amount of loft well it's really really nicely and washes nicely too that's what we use also and tell me about the type of what's the brand of threatening use on your lawn Oracle team my favorite thread is so fighting by superior threads this is what I use are basically all of my clothes it blends it's a really fine thread so but it's really nicely and there's a wide variety of colors for my bobbin I always use its called bottom line and it's by superior threads as well it's a little bit coarse so it creates really really nice tension on the button today I'm going to show you how to load a quilt to the longer machine so first you load the quilt back when you send your foot back to the long-run culture make sure that your backing is at least four inches larger on all four sides this just gives us a bedroom to clamp that quilt down attach it to the machine and to allow for any distortion so I start out by taking my pull back folding it in half finding the center and then I'll just figure press a little mark in the center and I have marked on my leader the summer and I'll just match up the center's and pin it together then I'll move to the other spike just to finish pinning you back now I will repeat that process on the bottom edge of the quote back we mark the center I'm the center on my leaders only pin it again that night at the bottom and get the quilt back tight so now you'll add your bedding the padding will guard top of the backing and it'll just be floating sinus lay the batting find and stick the batting jam in between then two bars so now we're gonna attach the quilt top to the club machine I'm gonna fold it in half finger press again finding the center then line the center up with the marks on my leaders then I will pin the bottom edge of my quilt top to the third leader I always start from the right side and work to the left now I will take the whole quilt top and fold it down roll it up making sure that it stays nice and flat then I pull it up on make sure that it's still centered and now we will baste it I'll take a single stitch and pull up the bottom thread and then just make a large that right stitch length long and just stitch along the top to the traitor [Applause] and then faced alarm aside [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] now I add clouds just to make sure the colors nice and flat you know I'm ready to quote I'm going to show you
