more minivan for you uh come on man for me Jeff what is this is this a rattlesnake no Carol this is a Cobra Oh a Cobra Shelby Cobra that's right Cheryl well I've seen those watch free shows and you'll be broken six-month just like everybody else and you'll be back here bothering us coming in don't what are you doing here she's still coming by to say that I'm moving down to Florida me and mother oh yeah every right where you going bunk over town I don't think so Carol where I move it to a mobile park down in Orland so you're just going to say goodbye huh pretty much they're off all right well for you around much luck good luck all right I'll see you in six months ha ha ha back in the minivan I'm all they show gerald yeah I bet cool car you slowly I got polling in well looks like kind of like slippers yeah looks like slippers minivan what happened to the Cobra thought he won the lottery yeah I thought he was in Florida he was never coming back yeah look who's back in and just like I said well I'm I'm wrapped over tangled iris right now oh yeah why would you do her Tony you gotta pay taxes on anyone oh here you go three taxes on that money I told you you'd be back I know all those lottery winner they all go broke six months later here you are bad I might be only Jo Terrell well you wouldn't last year long in jail but then again is annoying as you are they might let you out early yeah yeah well don't think you're gonna be camping out here every day slippers well I just wanted you guys to know that I'm back okay I'll be shopping all right well thanks for the bad news we got work to do all right having coupons yeah go back to clipping coupons flipper I knew that slippers would be back broke possibly looking at jail time but that was a sweet car at Holbrook I think I'm going to go to the tax sale and see if I can pick it up cheap now be my new card slippers going to be looking at me through some bars but anyway today we're going to focus on fixing the fuel line's on one of these cheap weed eaters now we don't normally work on these weed eaters because with the labor costs and everything it's too expensive you just go buy a new one but I'm going to show you how to fix it yourself isn't that nationally yeah so you can see a fuel lines are broke off they rotted away so first things I want to do drain out any gas if there's any gas in there get all that gas out and hear that that puts left for the fuel line well we'll get that out then you're going to want to take off the air filter and the foam a little bathroom and the allen wrench take this off so we can get to those holes in there because all the fuel lines seal is through the gas tank that's kind of a cheap way of doing it should have a grommet look they just sealed by fit and tight through down holes I see people try to glue them and everything else so I'm just going to go ahead and take carburetor off now you want to remember how these go this is the inlet this is what sucks the fuel up out of the tank see this thing here that's called a purge bulb so what it does is it sucks the fuel out of the tank brings it up through the carburetor and dumps it back in there so that way when you go to pull it on choke the gas is already at the carburetor so the skinny one is the fuel pickup and the big one here is the return line so we're going to take that off now I want to get the rest of this stuff on I got that filter out of tank you can reuse it if it looks clean or you can buy a new one at your parts store and here's that fuel line look at it it's all just falling apart so bring your fuel line to the store where you buy your farts or another trick is I got one of these drill gauges that I got out of some magazine or something they sent it to me for free so you can use that to gauge your fuel lines see what size it is so that one fits there and then you can go to your fart store and get the fuel line they got it in different sizes I usually get it by the foot so here's a piece so that's that one and then here's the other one the bigger one we need to return line all right here are just two there's a lot of different sizes of this fuel line here's just the two for this we eat of rain so cameraman is going to zoom in on that one and he's going to zoom in on that one okay there's two different size those holes in this tank so what I do is you skin it back skin this back so you can get it started in there and then come on over here cameraman and then stick it in there because I got it skinned back and kind of twist it a little bit push on it alright and then turn it and then that's where the doctrine tools come in now I can reach in and grab it and lock onto it now I can pull it through see you're going to you know by having a foot you're going to waste a lot but that's alright it's tougher than that much it's pretty cheap now I'm going to cut this off then I want to put the fuel filter on the end now I'm going to tuck it down in there now I'm going to pull some back now you want to make sure it's sitting laying flat down in the bottom you don't want to go too short then you got enough hanging out so when you put the carburettor back on you can trim it up real nice now you do the same for the return line just get it back that's simple now on those homelite ones the holes are way in the back so sometimes you got to skin it way back you might want to get a couple feet on the whole light trimmer and then feed it through and then you're going to have to reach way in there and pull it out so you're going to end up wasting a lot now this is just a return line so it don't have to go in that floor doctrine tools find that dead end grab it pull it through now I'm just going to cut it off and then I'm going to pull it back so you only need about an inch or so to stick through because that's just the return line now if that's all you wanted to do is just replace the fuel lines well then you can just stop the video here you freeze frame it and then say okay that's all I need to know to put the return lines in but I'm going to go a little bit further on this one and we're going to go through the carburetor because you might want to replace this ball or these gaskets in here might be bad so we're going to show you how to rebuild this carburetor okay on these Zama carburetors to find a model carburetor you got to look in this little cavity here and you can't see that c1u because the studs or the screws that are carburetor go through there what that's what model this one is it's a c1 you and then on the other side you're not going to be able to see it with the camera but up here is the what type it is and this one said it was a w7d so then I went over to the computer and that one on Sawa's website and I've looked up with c1 uw7 D and it said it took GND 18 carburetor kit and these kits are my 5 bucks now there's going to be a bunch of parts in here you're not even going to use so what you do is when you take it apart you match up the parts exactly that you need you just throw the rest of them away because you're not going to use them and then here's that little purge bulb but they call it a syringe and you can get that at your parts store they come in a package of 10 there are about $2 a piece so you might as well get one of them too so what we're going to do first is I'm going to take this side off first with a Philips screwdriver now where's the screws that take off these two screws and we want to look inside there now some of these carburetors if you rebuild it and that kit and it still don't work you got to buy a new carburetor so there's the this is the fuel pump side because those are the flapper valves for the fuel pump this is that hard plastic and then down in here is that little screen and that's usually where once the crap gets accumulated in there and won't let the fuel pass through so let me get my pick tool on will pick that out I should have had it up here already now this screen here is real thick and stiff I don't like these screens that are real thick and stiff so I'm going to take this one out and I got new ones that are real soft and pliable now if you can't find one of them screens at your parts store then just just leave it out so here's one see this one's real soft these even though they look clean or so thick a lot of times it won't let the fuel through if you got a purge valve that you're pumping and if you pump it down and it don't return like the this it's real slow coming back that's because this little screen is probably plugged up so I got the new screen and then the other side's got the diaphragm on it now that diaphragm has got to be soft and supple if it's all hard you need to replace it because it's not going to let the fuel through because that's what pushes on the little needle valve see this one soft actually this carburetor probably don't even need a carb kit but I took it apart anyway here's your needle valve which when that little pin pushes on there that's what lets the fuel through when another thing is sometimes they put seal around here and that sealer comes off after a while and it starts swirling around in there and get stuck in these little holes so I took it apart I'm going to clean it blow it off with some air and put it back together and we're going to put it back on the weed here and it should run okay I'm going to touch over here these are metering gauges for setting this we're setting that needle valve zi4 Zama w-4 walbro you can find these on the inner screen I'm sure there's people on there selling these they're not too much money so you just find a model carburetor on there we got to see one you and then you just lay it in there flat spot here and look looky here can you see that right in there mr. cameraman there's a gap so what we need to do is bend that up till that just touch it now they make a complete carburetor kit that comes with a new needle in and everything else and that starts with our b GN d stands for gasket and diaphragm the RV kit is rebuild kit and that comes with this new tang and a new needle valve and all that but a lot of times we don't need all that but if you do you get an RV kit under that model number that's how we want that just like that make sure it springs up and down alright so now we can move on to our gaskets here's the old one and look there's four or five different ones and gaskets - so what you do is you just find the one that matches that one's don't match get out of here that one don't match get it out of here this one don't match let me slip around sticking to my fingers that one don't match get out of here get out of here there it is see everything matches all the holes everything line up so that's the old one get rid of that one that's the new one now we got to find a gasket here's the gasket see first time on that one this one's different see get out of here this one that don't match get out of here it's this one see all the holes line up so all you have to do is when you do this just you don't take your time to make sure gasket then the fuel pump so that's done so now we can stick this back on up got put my little screen back in there you gotta have little little hands little doll like hands for these little carburetors take my little pick tool set that back in there somehow alright we got that in now I want to take this have to move this out of the way a little bit there we go now we can put our new syringe or purge ball or primer ball whatever you term you want to use stick them in there get our Philips screwdriver screw it down don't tighten it up yet just get it down and go back and forth snug them up a little all right we got that done now coming to the diaphragm gasket and the diaphragm the metal disc always goes down you don't use this side you always use the side with the disc so that's pretty simple the only couple parts left this was the old gasket get out of here this is like a rubbery one I don't like that I like the cellophane ones better so you got the diaphragm see I didn't pull it all off yet it's still stuck to it and then the gasket and that's just how we want it diaphragm and gasket don't want to do it like this you don't want to do it like this that's wrong so diaphragm first or gasket first that way then the diaphragm then the cover that little hook thing goes in that hole there now remember just match them up with whatever kit you got that's all you got to do take your time got a half tations remember patience is a virtue gotta have patience and then just tighten this down now we're ready to put this back on on the weed eater oh yeah one other thing I want to touch on - how you going to adjust this carburetor it's got that in there you got to have these special tools which you can only get if you're a dealer here's a couple of ones these are in the shape of a D this one's in the shape of a D and then this was this flying one and then they even make another one they call pac-man this is the one we need you're going to have to come up with some kind of crafty way to get in there and turn that and if you can take it out maybe put a slot in it soon get a screwdriver around it but the reason they do this they don't want you messing with this carburetor or carburettor as I call it so now it's ready we're going to put it back on there alright I won't put the carburettor up here and kind of gauge how much I'm going to cut off but I could always shove some back down pull it back through then we sit here alright cut that one there I'm going to go ahead and hook these up first because it makes it easier when it's off this is real tight remember two skinny one went on the inside and then here's that return line goes here alright now I can take this with my screws put that in there hook up my cable and get my Allen start screwing it in a little bit at a time alright careful you're screwing into plastics ain't gotta get all beasty and now let's see you got a little bit of a kink there so I'm going to pull some of this back where's my doctoring tool and we get over here pull this out a little go and got a kink and then this other one's a little kink too so I'm just going to pull that one through that any one there we go any nice straight shot now all I got to do is put the air cleaner back on put this little baffle in put the air cleaner around put the cover on put some gas in it we're going to start it up alright I got it all back together now another thing when you're going to tune this carburetor you got to make sure you got trimmer line in it because when you got lying on it it's foot to load on that motor so you want to make sure doors line on it because it's going to act different when you tune the carburetor because you got to have the load on it so I'm going to pump it let's see oh yes these gas is coming up so it's working put it on choke full choke I'm going to hold the wide open look at that take it off Joe all right I'm going to open it up a little just a little bit choke it again this time I'll put on half choke a little harmonized just a little bit let me open it up a little bit no more now remember when you're tuning is it's just like opening a valve the water think of it that way when you open it you're giving it more gas when you're turning it in you're giving it less gas and another thing is you should let it warm up a minute or two to properly tune the carburetor all right so now I think I got it good it's a little warm it should start without doing anything now all I should have to do is pull it so when you get that hesitation when you're throttling it and it's bogging down that means and then getting enough fuel so you're going to open it up a little bit just a little bit at a time and then there's your dinner I'm fixing one of these cheap Wheaties runs good now I think me and junior will go out later we'll have some wee black flash later another fun hey there's your dinner you
