home based large-scale biodiesel methanol distillation check it out hey YouTube this is Doug green Cathy and today we're going to be looking at the glycerine distiller to go ahead and distill the ethanol back out of glycerine and then we go and put it back in the barrel when we are making biofuels so basically what happens is after you make the biodiesel you take your recovered glycerin you go ahead and put it in your tank here and then the stiller basically heats it up to about 200 degrees and it's kicks out the methanol out the back and they say that you're going to be able to get for every batch you're going to be able to get about 10 to 15 gallons we average about 7 to 10 gallons after it distills the methanol it comes out of the pump here and then you pump it into your bins so right here we got a 250 gallons hope that it's going to be for the liquid soap because we're gonna make liquid soap and this one here is going to be 4 bar soap and the great thing is is that it purifies it and cleans it out and make sure that there's no methanol in there and it makes it safe to be able to make the soap the great thing about the methanol distiller is that it gives you the ability to go ahead and recapture and recover the methanol when making the biodiesel which is going to save you a lot of money because these barrels of methanol are quite expensive so when you get into a larger capacity of making biodiesel definitely being able to get one of these is better because you're not having to boil it off or anything like that if you're going to be using the glycerin we're going to be using glycerin to make biodiesel glycerin soap and we will be making some videos on that coming soon other options you can go with besides doing the soap when you're using the glycerin you can also use it as feed for your livestock works really well for chickens 4 pigs and 4 cows I believe you can also use it for goats and they say that it actually has twice the energy that corn does which is nice and you can also use it to do composting so you know there's a lot of uses for your glycerin when you're done you do not have to actually we let it be a wastestream you don't have to try to dispose of it you can either make soap feed your animals to do compost there's some other things you can do with it as well but definitely take advantage of being able to get the methanol out distilling the methanol and being able to use that as another viable product and not a waste product anymore
