what's up so squad help you guys have a great weekend we did welcome back to my kitchen today is wrong kick yes'm yes it's been requested so many times it was really requests a lot over the holidays but I never got to it so I figured why not today better late than never I got there like this hmmm another deal I said stuff so guys what we're going to need for a good rum cake an easy rum cake I'm working we're gonna make that come the rum glaze aren't with the sugar water from the butter we're gonna make everything but make a classic old-fashioned rum cake so does he weigh walnuts I chopped them you Kabam already chopped I didn't so I chopped them this is about a cup and a half may not use it all but I just got a hit just in case full eggs 1/2 a cup of doc Bacardi rock see that some buttermilk some bakers joy if not baked destroy any um cake spray flower spray for your cake pan or you know old-school flour and butter do your cake pain I have right here 2 and 1/2 cup of cake flour 2 teaspoons of baking soda 1 teaspoon of salt and also I'm trying to think the main plate and also I had some vanilla pudding but never put me this recipe is very crucial because they help with the alcohol somehow help it balance off the alcohol but if you check on a lot of burnt cake recipes they always add in this box of another pudding so again I have 1 teaspoon of salt 2 teaspoons of baking powder 2 and 1/2 cups of cake flour you've used all-purpose flour you just have to ship it mmm you just have to sift it at least twice cuz you want to make it really really thin and of course your own instant vanilla pudding 2 sticks of softened butter at room temperature not too soft but soft enough add two cups of sugar and we're gonna start and you can hand mix it with a hand mixer and of course pre-heat your oven at 325 and your favorite but pain we won't let this go for about a good maybe five minutes or so someone accelerates them Tommy sugar in that butter I want to make it kind of fluffy so now that the sugars I've I've got speeded up Philip humans always take your backyard cut it all but I want to push it down because it goes up to the side and up on you but somehow KitchenAid says don't kid everything from the bottom of these are both already back on the back of media three this is good good doesn't got to shoot up think you got the heat up a little too high because I got just about every window and okay I'm attorney Sam just one one and I'm an egg in my eggs I'm and then one at the time yeah you're not good with the shells and all that stuff just make sure that you um pre crack your eggs so that they can plug in the eggshell only right back home but I know I could come up with another recipe I'm using this one so it's not a giveaway Brian [Applause] let's still gotta make for you do one cake on what campus one day at a time this cake is going for the oven on 325 for me about 35 to 40 minutes until it come out toothpick clean that's why mmm Ella I just want to scrape down the sides again just to make sure we're getting everything I'm not gonna add too much buttermilk because I already gonna have a liquid which is going to be the arms I'm just eyeballing guys if you can get your hands on some this vanilla will my hands are like the $6.99 smaller you don't want to know how much I paid for this no how'd your $25 yes when I fix those um pound cakes my website and I'm sending them out and by the way thank you so far I want that flavor you know I wonder I want them to have the best of the best that good flavor so you can't go wrong with that okay I'm room temperature yo but until take it out at least 15 mins before you box alarm cook your eggs at room temperature I hate these kind of letting up this all they had at the school i had i like behind push this pool ahead you almost push this back take the handle I'm just gonna stir everything up get everything that this mixer didn't get yeah that's a consistency that you want and you got to smell the alcohol in here yeah don't get too twisted okay with that being said I'm gonna reach over your own breath bump in you have not months can I move all push all the stuff back and I stole this already preheated is ready to go 325 again give me a flower all right when they came up with this it saved my life I'm in I'm asking the old-school but anything to make anything quick and easy ma'am this is where you take I have a cup and a half walnuts that I chopped I may not use it all you want to layer the bottom of your paint put your nuts if you want to use pecans pecans whatever you're on the correct pronunciation oh by all means whatever you have and look like me so that's it what is and I'm going in with my cake mix around in a circle we go let us stop now that I know and I'm making a mess on the side the aroma of this is great cause we're gonna clean all this up and when this cake you come out get done I'm gonna show you guys how to make the glaze mm-hmm that alcohol is in here then we go get you up tonight hmm gasps you gotta be 21 years old and older I'm just gonna get all the air bubbles god this cake is ready for my oven 325 again 45 say 45 to 50 minutes early since I stopped doing the show I kind of like half the spa time if I could tell you guys normally I don't turn my cakes I just put it in the other and I know when it's done but we're gonna say about 50 minutes well 325 and we're outfits the next time oh no that's the next time so we come back and make glaze okay so slow we are back look at this cake the aroma and the house is fantastic look how soft this cake is okay like I told you guys I'm not only gonna time cakes just because I pretty much know when they're done or you know like you put a toothpick in it it come out clean that wet this cake 325 for 60 minutes that's all I'm gonna let this cake sit here the oven is off Bobby do the glaze I've got a 1/4 cup of water that's all we mean I have a half a cup of butter with unsalted butter which is only a stick of unsalted butter and also one cup of sugar we're gonna let all this come together having a wireless we did random innocent yet move on that all this is come together for about five minutes it's like on I got my eyes on a number five cuz I have the numbers on here and my like this chill about good ten minutes while we doing this and I'm gonna flip it on here and it's going to be also sauce and why are we doing that I'm going in right here cuz we need what another half a couple room I told you you gotta be 21 can really drink this cake nobody under 21 in my house gets this cake unless your parents said you can't up the net no this cake is great I got my parchment paper lined up because when we do the whole trizol thing you know easy cleanup on my cake dish so yeah I'm gonna lie got the wire rock out won't even using it today I just gonna let this come to a ball it's on a medium heat about a good five minutes simmer up the butter is nothing wrong with that sugar we don't put the rum minutes unless you guys or I could bring you back when it's all bubbled up and everything you guys see the end result it's on a medium-high heat it's gonna bubble see you guys that's the ball that I wanted see look at that about a good five minutes see how the glaze it is to see ice pick handle that's what we wanted to come to I'm gonna turn it off and I'm adding my half look at this is back from you guys that I'm used to the body dr. mom I think what I bought get the call so much money like southern I know and what I will be doing I'm going to pull it and to my measuring cup yes I'm not gonna be using all this of course people know this but before we even get into that let's get into this video game that's that's how or a video game okay so I'm gonna flip this is still kind of hot but it is guys oh that's what look that's where you put it on down the ball yes oh this they're all nuts in everything and I'm gonna take this right here because I want to easy clean up just with this lathe and I'm just gonna pour it again there's a little bit of sweetness I guess I'm in to save this summer there it give it that glossy they had a walnuts and cooked into it and I just want to make sure so I'm gonna take my little spatula boys right here that's mama get that glaze all on the sides and that's just why I got this for ya yeah we're gonna cut it i'ma cut it just this sugar glaze you're just gonna make it shine I told fufu I'm sweet sugar glaze I'll piss on more than man around here you go and like this make a hole why I probably won't be saving this because I won't be making the rum cake no time soon and I believe it is more glaze that more wronged up and you know what I should have done about to grab me a skirt cuz we're gonna punch in some holes maybe you guys have something just punch in a couple of holes on the top if you can this is a little bit like a whisper but it on top of those holes I did they're gonna be too busy eating a tail okay Peter there we go your Friday night turn up with this cake yes again this cake is not putting young guess it's for the don't eat you honey yes so would that be safe so easy cleanup to pull this
