today I'm going to show you how to use an integral pigment to color concrete I decided to use a vase made from a plastic bottle to test the concrete coloring I use quikrete countertop mix in white as the base and quikrete liquid cement color in red for the pigment cutting an X in the center of the lid helps keep the drill bit from slipping you want the glue stick to fit in tightly so trim the hole just enough for it to fit adequate Creek coloring agent to the water before mixing in with the concrete I added more water than usual so the concrete would pour easily into the bottle you vibrate out as many of the bubbles as you can a hairdryer or heat gun makes it a lot easier to remove the plastic you can soften it up cut it a little bit and then peel it away in retrospect a wax candle might have been a better choice than a glue stick the glue is a little bit rubbery and can be hard to drill out the more pigment you add the more intense the color will be for more detailed instructions check out my website and be sure to follow me on social media
