hi my name is Suzanne and I am the owner of flat wearable artisan jewelry in this video I will demonstrate how to take your bracelet bender and turn it into a ring bender so now you're set up like this so we're going to go to the vise now when you're ready you're going to bring this up now the roller is away from the piece a little bit drop down a little pull the roller up against the piece again and snug up further okay lifting up again same things snug up further you want to keep that pressure roller right up against the piece during bending now you're going to bring it around you're going to bring it around to the edge of the piece there's no need to bring this all the way down and snap it off the piece like you do in bracelet bending once you've got it to the edge you can let it fall back down again this is what you should have at this point okay this is the inner edge of the ring and that is the first part that we're going to Bend remove the piece out now you're going to turn it around and you're going to reinsert it in this direction bringing these rollers all the way down pushing this back through you're going to lift up okay again now your piece you need to get that pressure alright tight up against that piece you're going to drop it down a little bit snug it up again tighten it up further bring it around again you may need to tighten it up a little bit more because it's pulling away make sure you're level on both sides you don't want like a big gap on this side and a little gap on this side you want even gap on either side otherwise the piece is going to Bend crooked and it's not going to be straight now you're going to bring this over okay again you don't want to snap this off the end bring this back down move the cross bolt you can just pull the roller right off all right you may be able to pull it off you may me may need to cap it off with your hammer just depends on how tight you got it this I can pull off I believe okay now you're going to have a piece that looks like this at this point so what you're going to need to do is do your finish work with a mandrel and your hammer either if you're using you know a rubber mallet or if you're using a wooden mallet you're going to have to do your finish piece on a steel mandrel - size it at this point I'm going to go ahead and finish our shaping and we're going to make this a size 8 alright that's looking pretty good check for size and we're now at a size 8 okay so here is your ring size 8 if you want to size up you have to tap down the mandrel and that's going to stretch it open if you want to size down you have to bring it up to where you have some room there and you're going to bring it up there where you get some room and you're going to have to keep tapping it to shrink it down and to make a smaller ring
