hey there I'm Vicky Howell and welcome to my get schooled in knitting series where I break down the fundamental skills that you need to get knitting and get knitting successfully let's see what we're going to learn today I'm going to show you how to do a decrease called the k2tog or knit two together so what we want to do is we want to take two stitches and and turn them into one and to do that we are going to insert our needle in the first two stitches on the left hand needle through both of them as if you were working one together and then you're going to knit it together as if they will one and that creates what's called a right slanting decrease as well so if you're ever reading on a pattern and you're wondering why they're using different decreases that have at different times it's because they slant different ways so the knit two together slants the right way I'm going to show you one more time come up through two stitches on your left hand needle knit them together as one letting them both loops drop off that left hand needle and you have now created you've turned two stitches into one alright and that's all there is to it you did it I can't wait to see how you brought your knitting skills together make sure to tag at Viki hello on social media so I can see you working on techniques and the projects you make using them you
