my name is Jeffrey Johnson and I'm Renee Kramer - Sheppard on volcanoes and I just hang about non-b okay so today we're going to do the vodka taste this and it's based essentially on the Pepsi taste taste test Pepsi challenge Brennan's gonna what are you gonna do wait well you know it's been some lovely oysters what are these - we've got some cushy from BC we got some mouth Peck from the East Coast and then from Massachusetts we got what's called a bleeding point they've ran a large they are Lowe's yes then we do mr. Trump not the good there my mom always says now it's September in September the six today September 6 and it's the oysters are getting better now that the cooler weather is coming in and usually what we say they colder the weather the better the oysters my mum always says every oysters when there's unless there's an hour in the month so April May June you wouldn't be ignore it and that's when they're they're breeding they don't actually breathe they do it all themselves then what so what are you gonna do with these oysters well we're gonna have some pickled ginger and we got some quail egg yolks we can marry them better and then you have a some I've got a night but I'm going to do something magic here this is a Brita filter we're gonna advertise everybody okay this is a Brita filter and this is a relatively inexpensive vodka called Stalin ayah and we're gonna pass it through the Brita filter and then put it up against a very well-known brand of vodka and I've got two people in our kitchen of random I'm gonna come out and try it and they're gonna try your voices and I'm gonna drink a lot of vodka so you just pour this into the Brita filter so you've got a brand-new filtering up a brand new filter not coming through yet I think it's drinking it well it's probably a very good with Russian so it's something exceptional no this Russian no I don't think so I probably know this there you go so what's happening nothing's it because here it is it's dripping look there you go that's dripping or water that would be a socialist one you've got so I want you to try one of the cushy with a little bit of pickled ginger here I'll do that okay you wanna make with it I will where's that yes it is I'm gonna join you these are cushy from British Columbia yeah what's this for breakfast now you can also do an oyster shooter here we go that ain't go really does something in it it makes it very creamy mmm what did your otherwise some mob back soon knows that you open an oyster oh here we go it's very it's I usually use a towel just to protect my hands but right here at the end you can go in and wiggle it around a little bit and pushing a little bit and then it opens it up what you want to do is cut there's a muscle in there you can see how attached it is to the muscle right there so you cleaned up a little bit and then you loosen it too because you don't want to eat an oyster wait the fork and a knife we just sort of want to slide it right into your mouth right off the shell that's why you have to loosen it up from that little muscle in there not a regular yeah yeah thank you all other one if you if you haven't didn't you have any plans for that and what was this this is a this is a Malpeque a Malbec yeah it's from Pei mm good very very popular Canadian oysters I would say the mouth thanks some people eat a bit hot sauce and Tabasco is the favorite there some people put a little bit of lemon on it for acidity but the purist would never put anything on an oyster he would just eat the oyster so you can actually taste this see my purist not really because you have an egg yolk on it aha so the vodka is now finished passing through the Brita field which is a charcoal filter and before you use it you have to rinse it out otherwise you'll get charcoal colored vodka which is not a bad thing given that there's a great movement now to charcoal food child I've seen charcoal Hamburg about I had charcoal soft ice cream in a charcoal cold the other day at the exhibition maybe sir tastes like vanilla color it's very nice though but a very adventurous did you go on the roller coaster no no under all our constant no I'm sitting on the sandy beach having a beer okay vodka I'll keep my charcoal on the on the on the barbecue so what I'm going to do is I'm going to ask two of them else chef Danny self pastry chef Denise come place your chef Denise who looks a little nervous come on I'm right in and Mel one of our leading hot chefs and they're going to taste they're gonna taste an oyster and then you're going to taste the two different look is the expensive and the trigger filter I'm not you don't know which one is which and you'll tell us if there's a difference and which one you like best this is that Pepsi challenge gone crazy I'm loving this I can't wait to have a glass of both good so you don't have to drink it all but I advise you that you do okay so let's try let's try this one go right ahead guys I'm trying to bebop the first which is the one that's not filtered through the Brita it's a bit difficult Laura a hell of a Brita filter out water into a bottle or something how is it you don't look at you baby not what are you working okay fine it's just a little pickles changer in your mouth sure absolutely is that good here we go it's not as creamy right which one is this this is P and that's nice can I have an oyster place yes sir that was good now think think ii think a second is there a difference here we go that this is not a peck laughs no it's very lovely yes smoother I'm gonna come here again so be mr. Furr Wow Wow minutes there's a serious difference okay so the big reveal which would be below so what did you like hey wolfy egg I liked it hey hey hey stolen aiya and that is for a 40-ounce er that's $40.05 B is Grey Goose at $75.95 rid of Fielder not another money it's about $30 for the Fielder and a couple of dollars $30 from the unit and a couple of dollars for the filter after you've done one bottle you've got your money back do two bowls and you've been really happy so there you go less expensive vodka through the Brita filter and I really tasted the difference in it yeah there was a with the the Gray Goose which is a really good vodka it was a little bit of fire still in it in comparison with the oak it's still dripping in comparison with the one that's been passed through as a Brita filter so let's thank you buy your Brita filter buy your cheap vodka call on bill for any catering like us and share us take care
