don't change the oil and the deaf I'm using real purple on this but factory stuff works really good also make sure when you're going to do this to check first to see if you have a limited slip you might have to put additive in royal purple already has an additive in it that I need so I should be good to go we also have some old oil containers to collect it in for recycling and I've also got all my tools that I need so let's get started step number one pop off the plug sometimes there's a bolt or a screw right here they have to do luckily lucked out it's just a rubber plug and we got to drain it all right can't try and get this down on the bottom and the receiving end into a port see if we can get some oil out oh yeah we're moving now all right I've pulled the equivalent of two quarts out word to the wise just watch it fill up or a little over spill like I did on that one anyway so got it mostly out now another alternative what most people do is take all the basically take this whole cover off clean the inside out but if you don't do regular maintenance not really necessary but you're not going to get the every little last drop out you will have some that are left in there but I am just doing it this way because I'm going to get majority of it out I change it regularly so I'm not too worried but now I got it out now it's time to fill this sucker up all right now to put the fresh oil in I got a different pump than that one basically just looks like this I got both of these at Northern Tool both the pumps definitely a good investment just going to buy it once and then you're set to go again please make sure to check to see if you have added over not on yours alright I'm in fun put more where the camera out of my way of wheeling and it's pretty simple just put your pipe in there start pumping see why the cult rule purple a little purple I don't know if there's any improvement in gear oil motor oil have definitely noticed an improvement with the gear oil I really can't say had somebody comment on my last engine oil change about it and there really is a good website I guess I should have mentioned that Bob the oil guy had totally forgotten about that website so thank you for posting that and yeah so now you just fill it up till it hits the fill line which for most diff swill be the cover there and you're good to go then you just put the plug back on and you are done I let them apples alright I won't blow you with this either unless you sit here like watching me do this and leave it like doing it so don't you want to watch it okay alright time to do the front now this here's front differential behind the sub grace frame did the drain and fill plug right here again you'd have to do the same thing if you want to take the whole thing off you'd have to take all these bolts off take the whole cover off me I like to do it the easy way I'm just going to pull it out drink it that way and I'm going to use my and due to the limited space I can't use 17 big big sinks are it's awesome I'm trying these ratchet fit then if you can't fit it in there but most people can tuck it in or if there's a 14 or 17 14 that's 17 he is true routine yep all right all right let's get this sucker drained I can't see what I'm doing just reaching back here so you guys can see just remember lefty-loosey righty-tighty I have to get an extension on that so some of you might ask but Jack let me get an extension on one of these let's braid out there when I do socket and extension get one that fits snugly on it get a lot more bracing so see you can do here right Rubick complete can see this because I can't tell there we go a word of advice if you are going to take the cover off break this free first to make sure it's not frozen so you don't end up having to go to struggle with it off the car putting it back on and then you're stuck can't drive anywhere yeah I'm gonna scream tada got it off all right it's dripping already a little I mean it's full good which side of the switch let's write as many Joe Dirt is jam that in the gas bucket here is why it's a good idea to buy one of these little pumps you see it's tight quarters in here otherwise it would not a real pain otherwise trying to fill this up all right look at that all done let's go in the back put that drain plug in we should be finished 20 minutes for a one beer job so it's the cleanup badda-bing badda-boom finished
