all right and then we're going to apply our java gel sting and I like to use the poly brushes these work really great you can use a bristle brush as well but I'm just going to flood this product on and then I'm going to wipe it off right and normally if you've got a braised panel what I'd really like to do is start in the middle first and then work your way out to the outside so I'm just going to start in this crevice here and I'm going to wipe off my justing now of course you don't want to wipe everything off because then you're going to have no extra color so I usually just wipe lightly and just even out the color as you go and you're always going to want to wipe with the grain and make sure that you take your rig that you're working with and fold it so you have a nice clean surface to work with now on these edges here you're going to see some cross grains going this way so what I do is I'll wipe these first and then I'll wipe this area so I can keep the grain going with the wood that's on the piece now don't be surprised if this isn't really even on the first coat it isn't it's going to have a little bit of open grain here and there and usually we'll do maybe two three coats of this and that's going to give you a nice even color and that's it that's our first coat and this is a door I've already done and this has one coat of stain on and what we're going to do is put a second coat on because I really want them darker there's different ways to apply the stain and and again this one I'm wiping off and I'm going to do that same thing but later on we're going to show you how to paint it on and just leave it so right now we're going to hit it with a second coat of stain and get this color darker what I like to do when I'm working with the doors is do one side at a time and you really want to make sure that you're wiping all your edges you know check the back side make sure that you don't have any globs on it get that all off so it looks nice and clean and I'm going to wipe the inside of this door nice and easy because I want a lot of color on here I want to get it nice and dark and when I go against this edge sometimes I'll just run along this edge like this or you can even use a nice bristle brush to get some of that out of that edge that works well too you can even take it and dry brush it on with a brush or dry brush it off I'm going to get a nice clean rig to continue here and I'm just going to wipe till it's even now I'm going to check the back of my door to make sure I didn't get anything over the edges and that way you get it nice and clean that looks pretty good there you go
