for the snow nut I like to use it on hooks that have this little bend near the eye on the shank of the hook here is a j-hook that has that bend and here's a circle hook that also has suspend to start the snail not place it again through the art of the hook just like this now take the end of the line and form a loop make sure the tie end is still pointing down the shank of the hook and just like that to help make time is not easier I like to push the loop down and hold everything in my left hand to begin this knot start taking the loop and going around the shank of the hook and also that tag end of the leader do this for about five to eight wraps however many wraps you prefer as you are making these wraps make sure everything is nice and aligned and that you are working your way up the hook here is a close-up view of how everything should look now that everything is being held on the left hand go ahead and start pulling on the tag and with your right hand the initial loop will begin to close down and the snail knot will begin to form once the loop is gone you'll be left with a snail knot now go ahead and take the knot and push it up the shank of the hook towards the eye just like this then go ahead and trim your tag end and this is the completed snail lodge as you can see the knot has a low profile and works well with folks that have it bends near the eye of the hook Oh
