hi this is Dan from Rock paracord I had a request to make a lanyard this is actually a duck call laner that I made but one thing that's different about this is it actually has a side release buckle the other lanyards that I made were just continuous paracord all the way around so I'm going to show you all how to make one of these I'm actually going to make it with as a lanyard instead of a duck call lanyard just a regular like name tag lanyard or something like that so stay tuned and we'll get busy okay so I'm gonna start out with a 3/8 side release buckle and then I have four strands of paracord that are each 80 inches long so first off I'm going to go with two separate colors just two of the strands at a time set those off to the side and pick one side of the side release buckle and then you're going to run two ends through one side it doesn't matter which way you go into the buckle and then you're going to find the midpoint of these two strands and just fold it over like that alright now what we're gonna do is we're gonna do our you know basic round braid weave and I have other videos on how we actually do that so I'll try not to bump the camera but how I do it is the front goes to the right so we're going to crisscross those and then the right comes to the front in front of the left side okay and I do that the whole way down so the front to the right right to the front all right and you're just gonna alternate back and forth hopefully you can see that all right one more time so the front here go to the right side of the matching color okay tighten it up and then the right side goes in front of the matching color so front to the right right to the front and just keep doing that till you get your desired length all right I'll stop the camera now and I'll come back when I get down to the end of this one okay so I'm done with this side and probably a good length to make it is about 14 to 15 inches okay and that's just going to be one side you're actually going to have two separate sides so once you finish that one just set it off to the side and you're gonna do the exact same thing to the other two strands that you have okay again you're gonna put it through the side release buckle you got make sure I got two separate colors here alright pull it through till it's halfway okay then you're gonna do the same thing and it doesn't really matter what color you start with but you just want to kind of cross over here and make sure you have the opposite color sticking out on each side and then you crisscross it and then again same with the thing same with the pattern front to the right right to the front okay and then make this one same thing make this one about 14 to 15 inches okay so I got both sides done just kind of stretch them out a little bit make sure your pattern looks good okay now you can go ahead and clip them together all right then what we're going to do is we're going to join these two sides down here at the end now you can choose kind of how you want to do it but all you need to do is I actually find two separate colors and I would start from the inside here and pull one of these out one of the inside colors and then I'll twist this one back through here and bring this one out so the two colors that are on the inside need to go to the outside and then what you're going to do is you're just going to start doing a basic Cobra weave and that'll join both of the two sides together and once you make your first loop and you can kind of tighten down everything alright just continue to make your Cobra weave here Matt maybe make maybe six to eight loops and on how long you want it alright so there it is just kind of got messed up a little bit I'm probably adjusted around but that's kind of the idea and then you have these these pieces hanging down and this is what I made for all the for the duck call it lanyard but what you could do now is maybe cut most of these off and then take two of them and attach whatever you have to hold your lanyard or two lanyard string or whatever you have that you want to hold whatever you're wearing around your neck if you want to put just some type of keyring or something like that you can use these to attach it pick two of them maybe and then cut them off and tuck them up under here and then melt it all off and you should be good to go so just a quick video hopefully y'all could follow along what's going on but it's a lanyard with a side release buckle and you know it's very easy to take on and off so that's about it thanks
