do a little video today to show you how to remove this rear strip along here on your upper tailgate a few reasons why why you may want to do that you may want to change the color of this strip a lot of them a silver you may want to take it off and replace it with a black one or get your silver one spray you may want to change your camera and we'll do another video with the link we'll put the link at the end of this video on how to snap that out of the panel but you have to take if you've got like condensation on your camera you're gonna have to take that out uh take the panel out to get that out uh your number plate lights unlikely they'll go faultly these two number plate lights because they're led unlikely you're going to upgrade them because they're led from the factory but it may be something that in years to come will go wrong um this is the tailgate release release switch that may go faulty so there we go that's why you might do it but let's get on clearly you're looking at the video because you want to do it so get on and do it simon so yeah open uh tailgate um interesting fact apparently it's the first car with an all plastic tailgate the range rover evoke um right if you look on the inside you've got this inner panel where's my finger i can't there you go there's in a panel here that goes around um and we're going to snap that out from the main plastic frame so you just get one of these little plastic levery tools pull it around and pop her in out and i said how does that clip so it's got a lot of those clips in so we got you've got two types you've got the big poppers normal trim clips and then you've got the two you've got these little two pieces two-piece ones okay so they leave the green nipple can we say that word all right green little nipple there so you can see where you've got the green nipples there the two-part ones and then two of these you got these two spearheaded ones here and there and then right right at this front edge you've got these metal spring clips two of those okay so they've used every clip known to matter on that panel and then that's what you're looking at now if i lie in the boot here oh right now up in here yeah we might need that little so we got four little nuts so there's one there second one there third one there and then that last hole there four nuts so ian's going to get on an undo though what size 10 millimeter 10 millimeter and they're not the studs aren't too long you don't need super long socket on them do you know what's i don't know if you've got a super short socket it might not reach but you can see how long the studs are yeah all right 10 mil flanged m6 nylock flanged nut there we go they're all the same yeah it's quite an easy little job this one and it's not too bad second one they're not overly tight they just take a while because of the night they're all back after christmas you just had our christmas break got all the orders out yesterday back playing on cars the other day and tomorrow we're going to pick up our new range rover supercharged so we might video going to pick that up some dodgy second and card either selling it to us that's not how we got yeah there we go right that's the four of them so we can close that boot down now so just a little note obviously once we remove this you want to open your boot so you you could wedge something in the boot with three ways of the parcel you might want to not use your parcel shelf or do you want it yeah right i'm not mine should pop out from working from that end all right i'll support that and you keep going along here right so there we go comes out and then we've got a couple of connectors on him so what's the best way of doing this this one's the levers underneath oh he's on the back side is there so look at that okay a little squidgy leaving that yeah very soft and this one's on the top okay so that's the only ones you need to do all right let's have a little let's have a look have some light outside have a look we've got here so this is the panel so on the underside you got the camera which sits in his own little insert you've got the two led number plate lights there you've got the switch there which is the button so there is an internal loom there that connects it all together and then sat at the end and we'll do a separate little video how to do that is is your um reversing camera okay so we'll do another video and we'll put the link down how to do that um these little bolts there on a little t sliding bolt they can slide out those studs um later models have got a wash wipe here so there's a little washer nozzle we might look at whether we can do an upgrade for that but there we go well good luck with that you
