Please explain how to make a crochet ruffle

this video explains how to make a simple crochet ruffle it was originally made to complement the Hat with a ruffle pattern found on our website but this type of ruffle can be used with all kinds of crochet and knitting patterns first you will need to make this slipknot and then you will need to make a chain of the desired length in the Hat pattern you chained 43 but right now I'm going to chain approximately 10 to 15 just for the purposes of the tutorial the ruffle can be absolutely any length that you need there is no minimum or maximum length requirement that's about all the lengths that I need and now I'm going to count 5 stitches from the end and do a single crochet into that stitch just like that now I'm going to change six to three four five and six and do another single crochet into the very next stitch of the base chain followed by a chain of six more single crochet again into the next stitch in the base chain this is pretty much all there is to the ruffle you chain six and then single crochet into the next stitch and the base chain it's a really a very simple pattern a single crochet into the next stitch again and keep on going in the same way to create the first row of the pattern Here I am reaching the end of the first row of the pattern that was the last single crochet and now I'm going to chain eight because it's six for the loop and two more to make it a little longer because I'm moving on to the second row then turn the work over and do a single crochet into the first loop of the first row after that you're going to chain six and then you're going to do another single crochet into the next loop of the first row and the pattern for the second row continues in the same way you chained six and single crochet into the next loop of the previous row it's really a very simple and straightforward pattern Here I am reaching the end of the second row I am chaining I just finished chaining six and I'm doing a single crochet and as you can see the rough was beginning to coil up and fold at the end of row two I'm going to chain eight I'm going to turn the work and single crochet into the first loop of the second row just like I did with the second row then I'm going to chain six and single crochet into the next loop and keep going like that until I reach the end when you're making the Hat you are actually going to change yarns as you add more rows but this is not covered in this video tutorial and this is what the ruffle looks like at the end of the third row you can keep going and add as many rows as you need for your project
