you hello guys welcome back in today's video I am going to do seedling reporting this is my new cutter Fabia that I recently purchased from orchid garden and if you didn't watch that video you have a link in the description of this video with my orchid haul and this is my plant actually I had to slay seedlings in one pot and I considered seedlings are an amazing way to increase your orchid collection in a very cheap way I paid for this whole kids six pounds 25 so that is quite cheap and I know they are really really small and they can take up to six years to get to blooming size they may bloom in four years they may bloom in six it depends on the oricon cutter fabia is a cross between cutlet o Yanna and cattle arrabiata and the bloom of this orchid it is absolutely amazing I had some orchid seedlings in the past as well and I had great success with them I have sold them because I have found quite cheap versions of the mature ones on orchid shops but this is a new orchid and I couldn't find one anywhere on the internet so I decided I want to grow it from a seedling I also want a seedling for cut lahardee on SME alba and cut Lavar seviche seminal alba and the cutter toriana Rosita I have bought cut Liana alrea that is a matured one and though I have cut lavage ceviche that is also a much short one and I am doing amazing with them so I want to extend my cut LaDonna hybrid collection and now let's get into the seedling reporting this orchid stayed three weeks without water they were really deep hydrated in my unboxing video but hmm meanwhile they have sit into a jar of water for two days and they are now fully hydrated and the first step that want to take when you want to report your Cutler seedling it is gently squeeze the pot and take the middle out now when I have reported the middle held down and I kind of and I only had a few pieces of bark on the roots but when my orchids eat for two days in water to hydrate those so pieces of bark detached from themselves and now my roots are pretty clean I wouldn't recommend if you have a piece of bark that it's a really really attached to a seedling root to try to detach it because seedlings have very little her wood and if you damage them and if you break even one single root that will take a huge toll on the orchid because it is a very very small orchid so you want to take that extra step to provide the best care that you can for it so I would recommend if have maximum five pieces of bark small bark attached to them just leave them I guess you already know how to see which whole roots are alive and which are dead so the next step will be to spray the root system as best as you can with hydrogen peroxide 3% I put mine in this spray bottle and I am spraying it really really well and I will let it feel for three minutes you want to make sure that your orchid it is in growing stage meaning it has growing root tips like I have one here all you need to see on your growth that it's starting to produce roots now I have a little growth here but my orchid it is in active growth I have a lot of growing roots I have one here I have another one here so this is a good moment to report this orchid you don't want to report an orchid especially if it's a seedling when it is not an active growth because quite often orchids kill their old roots when you report them into a new medium and you don't want to stress too much a seedling because it would be quite hard to recover from a full root loss the hydrogen peroxide it is a very good fungicide and it will also kill any in his nails or snail eggs so that is very very good I will choose to report my orchid into the same pot that it came with because this is a seven centimeter spot it is not big I recommend you try to use for seedlings clear plastic pot so you can see what what is happening in the pot they are quite sensitive so as I said you want to take that extra step to make sure they are okay and I will spray the pot also with hydrogen peroxide just in case it had any snails eggs and also on the back side and also I will spray the tan I will use a mixture of 50 percent smaller lager and 50 percent smaller armies this will provide the perfect hydration that orchid seedlings still need but the ceramics will provide that perfect moisture that they need to grow I wouldn't use a nine centimeter spot for an orchid seedling that is this size as you can see it's quite small because if you see I would have quite a lot of empty space on the bottom of the pot so that would stay way too moist look if I would put my orchid like this I would have more than half of the pot without any roots to absorb the moisture and also this orchid doesn't yet have a big root system so you want to stick to small I could choose to use two small pots like this and put my orchid separately but this orchids stay together and they are quite used to be together it's not like I would put together two orchid seedlings that grew in separate pot and they may have different disease to spread to each other so if one of these is has a disease the other has it too so it's no it's not a problem for me to put them together as you can see I have a small dead root here but I won't hassle to cut it because it's only one and it's really really tiny so I will put a bit a little bit of medium on the bottom of the pot and if you have problems with medium falling down through the holes of the pot you may try to use some bigger pieces of lega on the bottom to cover the drainage holes and this is enough and now I will gently put my old I need a little bit more like so I will make sure I leave quite a lot of space for the new growth to develop and try to this one it's in a better state even if it doesn't have a new growth started because it helps more fruit tips as you can see this root here it's branching out so that is pretty nice so I will place this one to here and try to put them in the middle of the pot if you can that is only for seedlings because they are quite small and you don't really know where the new growth will start from so that would make quite a perfect place for more and now gently put me jump around them now I will adjust the height of the orchids as you can see they are a little bit buried and they want needs taken because they have quite good roots so this one can stay a little bit more down when I want to put on orchid that is already potted or maybe 1/2 centimeters more down to the pot I try to gently pull the orchid on inside the pot so I try to press it a little bit and squeeze the pot she will come a little bit deeper and like that I want to damage any roots so that one is perfect and now let's work with this one I think I need to bring a little bit more more medium there and this is how simple you would report any orchid seedling now when ceilings are this small they don't require different growing conditions so you can use the same mixture for any type of orchid seedlings I do recommend you keep your orchid seedlings in an area that has a quite warm temperature about 23 to 26 celcius I think would be the perfect range conditions for this orchid I will do in the next days care tutorial for orchid seedlings also but for the moment I will show to you how I would do water this orchid you can see I have here my orchid pot and with the tray and usually when I water I have a bigger bucket on which I - on top of which I have a sort of green large so imagine you have a grill on top of this thing and I will use a little bit of reverse osmosis water like so and I would water from the top gently until the water comes out from the tray and it leaks a little bit so if you still have a little bit of water or moisture you flush the pot truly so if any sort of bio loads we would start to form inside the orchid pot that will be flushed away and I will water like this every single orchid doesn't matter if it's a seedling or not some of you have asked me to show my watering regime and I will try to do this as soon as possible and now I will go to place my orchid in a bright location and I will come back with my care tutorial leave me a comment down below and tell me what type of orchid potting medium you like to use for your seedlings and let me know if you have any troubles in growing orchid seedlings I didn't encounter any sort of problems in growing them I quite enjoyed this process I consider it very rewarding to grow an orchid from the moment it is a seedling and bring it to blooming size and hold curious to see what is your opinion about orchid seedlings and if this is the first time you are watching a video on my channel please consider subscribing to it so you can stay up to date with all the orchid videos that I am posting this is
