hello I'm gonna show you how to sharpen an axe today I've got two older axes here and we're gonna just quickly put an edge on them using this diamond sharpening stone I got the stone clamped down to the table so it can't wiggle or move and we're just going to put a quick edge on here okay start with these are old axes and they're they're pretty nice but anyway we just give them a quick cleaning and oiling and then we're going to do approximately 2025 degree angle we're going to be following the V of the model just like this and repeat on the other side you can see it's removing some of the metal right there getting a little bit sharper okay the more time you spend on your ax the the faster you're gonna get that blade back to the right shape this one's been filed upon and beat up pretty good I like the old ones though old axe is just they're a lot heavier and nicer than the new ones it seems like those diamonds do work fast this thing already is picking up an edge pretty quick this is a roofers axe but it's good for splitting small pieces of kindling for fire building and things like that as well okay I want to show you just how sharp I got this axe and only a couple minutes here's a piece of cardboards cuts right into the cardboard and there's a small piece of pine trim we're just gonna take a little bit right off here so it's uh it's pretty good it's definitely gotten a lot sharper than it was and yeah I mean I like it so you can't go wrong you can't go wrong with these diamond sharpening stones they're all in stock at your sponsor chef Depot calm thanks for watching
