you guys my name is Salima and today I want to talk to you about homecoming so as you know if you can't have a date for the dance you also have to do one of these beautiful moons I guess they call them move them or whatever and then for the girl then they going to dance with and the girls have to do something similar for the boys to carry and their artists have the homecoming game so today I'm gonna show you how to make this baby here in my house you ready crafty so as you can see we went to the store and got everything we needed to match the school colors our kids go to Cinco so our colors are red and white okay the first thing we're going to do is cut three circles we chose cardstock for our project and the last layer was done with the pretty papers so it can be the backing of all three layers as you can see my son cut all three ribbons we didn't even measure we just eyeball it because it's handmade so it's okay to just go with it and he cut sixteen pieces of the one and a half inch white ribbon nine pieces of the two inch of red ribbon and for the last layer he cut twelve pieces of the half-inch Reverend had a little pause on it you can do as many layers as you want and the amount of remand that you need to cut it depends of the size of the circle that you're going to use now we are ready to apply the first layer we're going to use a hot glue gun to apply every single loop as you can see a fold them in half and glue them flat and to the circle that's our first layer make sure you open every single loop of the white ribbon so they make this little three-dimensional side around the circle the red ribbon is our second layer we wanted it to look different to create a second dimension so we folded the ribbon inwards put one end on top of each other and that created that pointy look do you see there to embellish your flower you can buy anything you want from little cowbells from little figurines bows buttons glitter whatever you want to put on the center of your flower it's okay just be creative be yourself make unique our third and last layer was done with the half inch ribbon as you can see we folded it differently opposite to the red ribbon so I will fold inwards and there you have it now the last thing to do is to glue the flower in the center you can use any type of flower for the center of your moon they're very traditional in this type of project this is a beautiful project to do with your family for homecoming now we are going to start the second circle as you can see here we have several ribbons little plastic embellishments beads and everything you can put to hang out of the second circle which is the skirt off the project just go for it it's a lot of fun now Tristan is done gluing every single piece of ribbon that he had and we're gonna let it dry next and last circle we're going to do a hanger we're going to attach a piece of ribbon so his friend can hang this moon over her head and carry it around the school very comfortably the last circle is the one that will embellish the back part of the moon so we used a pretty paper for the back end now that we have everything glued together we finished by gluing all the extra embellishments we had and there you have it I hope you enjoyed this tutorial see you next time don't forget to subscribe
