what's quick-set you say you've never seen it at the store well it's not really called quick-set everybody calls it quick set though this is the stuff I'm using it's called light weight setting type joint compound and it says easy sand 20 now they have this in different ones they have easy sand 30 easy sand 45 easy sand 60 easy sin 90 and that generally means how long it's going to take to dry now does it take 20 minutes for this to dry is that what that means 20 not necessarily easy Sam 20 I'm going to use that because that's what I have these are very small capsules if I was doing a large patch I wouldn't use 20 I've used probably 45 or even 60 depending how much I want to mix up at a time but this is going to set and it's going to be hard enough and you don't have to let it cure very long as long as it's halfway dry and it's hard it's not going to shrink and then you can put another coat over it so that's what I'm going to use easy sand 24 these patches I've got just I've got just a little 3-inch putty knife that's pretty much all I need for this just put it on and wipe it off it has a tendency to drag as you pull down on that's alright you don't want to play with it too much either don't worry if you don't get it perfect okay okay that's all that's all I'm gonna do on the first coat all right I'll just hit this little spot right here too yeah I see that almost looks smooth enough to paint over it but hey you have a big ugly patch there that's why we're just going to use this for the underlayment trust me on that it'll be gotta get right down in there don't I like it position it on my knife kind of over at the end try to wedge it down in there yes I may have to use my putty knife too can't seem to get in there all the way remember my little flexible putty knife I'm a little flexible putty knife here so I can just put a little bit on there like that and wedge it down in there so I put the masking tape and everything on the floor and the craft paper see the craft paper comes in handy doesn't it I don't have this all over the floor so get that as good as you can like I said the first coat will add some more notice it's low right there because I'm using this this little knife I should probably put it on with the little down here like that and then maybe go back over it with this bigger knife but it bridges out see that okay
